The highly-acclaimed Clemson commit has some of the best ball skills in the state and his late hands and body control at the catch point make it almost impossible for defenders to make plays with the ball in the air. He doesn’t get enough credit for his speed and he’s a candidate to play early for the Tigers.

Sellars is a technician, able to win both at the start and the top of routes. His body control is among the best in the class and he shows balance and the ability to contort at the catch point. He’s not been asked to run a full route tree, but excels in every way he’s asked regarding route-running, and there’s nothing to suggest he can’t run the full complement of patterns at the next level.

Gordon stepped into the #1 receiver role for the Chargers last season after some talented teammates graduated. Gordon did an excellent job, showing some elite skills all over the field. Paired with a talented quarterback, Gordon showed the ability to win with speed in 1 on 1 coverage down the field consistently. When defensive backs tried to get physical at the snap, Gordon showed the ability to work his release well and gain separation quickly on a variety of routes. Gordon is also highly recruited by Power 4 schools, and he has narrowed his choices down to five schools. Those schools are Clemson, Michigan, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

Gordon is another highly recruited prospect with special talent. Some of Gordon’s best traits are his route-running ability, and ease of route-running – meaning that he makes the cuts, bursts, jukes, etc….all look very easy and smooth. Gordon has excellent speed out of his breaks and can win versus man coverage. He also recognizes zone coverage and knows when and how to throttle down and find the holes when needed for his quarterback. Gordon recently named a Top 5 list of schools for his recruitment, which include Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Michigan, and Clemson. His spot on this Junior Bowl team is easy.

Sellars has a great feel for finding the soft spot in zone coverage and has great balance and body control. What’s really impressed me this year is his motor and willingness to do the dirty work. On a team of stars, he doesn’t have an ego and many of his highlights are of him blocking 20 yards downfield for a teammate.
He still has the physicality and hands of a top receiver though. The little things are great, but magnified by the fact that Sellars is an incredibly gifted athlete.

While Sellars didn’t make a huge move up in the overall rankings, he did move into the top spot at the receiver position. Already possessing great size, Sellars looks like the next great receiver to come out of Providence Day. His speed is effortless and he’s decisive with the ball in his hands, rarely dancing around and preferring to get up to full speed and upfield as quickly possible. A good special teams player, he’s an early contributor for a Power Four school.
