Here is a write-up from earlier this week on Cater:
“Cater was one of two impressive throwers for G7 CLT Blue, and helped lead his squad to an 18U championship on day 2. Cater was a rising senior and was the first QB I saw on day 1 that really screamed D1 tools. He is a compact, strong player who can put some heat on the ball. It wasn’t just the fastball, either. He tapped into different touches and trajectories to layer and bend the ball around defenders. I was confident in his ability to make every throw on the field, and that is exactly what he flashed all tournament. Cater is an underrated rising senior worthy of more attention.”

Cater was one of two QBs on the championship-winning G7 team, and he, too, had a solid performance when given the opportunities, especially on day 1. He is a stout, strong player with easy life on the ball. His quick release and velocity on his throws helped him attack tight windows and put the ball on receivers, while mixing in some more finesse-style throws. He is an underrated rising senior, but what I saw from Cater over the weekend tells me he has college tools.

on Providence Day depth chart, but he was extraordinarily efficient in his limited action as a sophomore. He completed 13 of 17 passes for five touchdowns, spreading the ball around well. He has a strong arm and decent size for his age. He likely has one more year as a backup, before he’s the likely candidate to take over as a senior. If he waits his time, he could be an excellent college prospect.

Being the backup quarterback at one of the state’s best programs isn’t a bad setup, and Cole showed some good things when he was able to get on the field for the Chargers. Cole ended up throwing 5 touchdowns to no interceptions in the limited Varsity action he saw last season. Looking at the highlight film, Cole can make accurate throws from the pocket or on designed rollouts with good accuracy and timing. Cole is not afraid to hang in the pocket and take a hit to make a big throw downfield either. We have him on the Wait List to see what else he can do when given the opportunity this upcoming season.
