DC, or Derrin as is his first name, has had a strong season up front for the Chargers. He consistently grades out well on a week-to-week basis and shows good overall strength in both run blocking and pass protection. As an interior OL prospect at both center and guard, Derrin has good size for either position and shows nice athleticism and footwork in his fundamentals up front. Derrin has some college interest from multiple schools, and it is well deserved.

Carr is a bruiser on the inside. With the ability to play tackle or center, Carr is a versatile lineman (who has played defensively as well) with massive power potential, despite average size for the position. Simply put, if he can get attached, he can bully defensive linemen, even bigger ones. He’s shown some upside as a puller and as a pass blocker, two things he’ll continue to improve upon as he develops.

Derrin, or “DC” as he goes by is another player that I have been wanting to see up close. DC has been having a good offseason, and it continued with this camp. I like DC’s reach – he does a good job of using his hands and arms to keep defensive linemen from getting into his body immediately at the snap. DC does a good job of keeping his feet moving and doesn’t overextend too much in pass protection. As an interior offensive line prospect, I think DC has the size that colleges like, and I expect his interest and offers from college football programs to continue going into the fall.
