Please make sure you are sharing your performances with me via Twitter/X @pepman704, especially if you are in the Charlotte Metro Area, to be considered for inclusion! We will have this series all year long on Prep Redzone North Carolina, and we will recognize everyone – including linemen! Stats and film will help a TON when being evaluated for inclusion! All right, let's get started.

Kaveaun Pless - South Point - 16 Carries, 217 Rushing Yards, Touchdown Run - Only a sophomore, Kaveaun has become one of the main threats in the South Point Redbone Triple Option offense. As the main dive back, Kaveaun hits the hole hard every time downhill with impressive speed and power. He will be an important piece of their playoff run.

[player_tooltip player_id='595731' first='DC' last='Carr'] - Providence Day - 6 Pancake Blocks & High Level Grade on Offensive Line - A Queen City Senior Bowl selection, DC, or Derrin, as is his first name, led the charge up front for a powerful Charger offensive line in a dominant performance against Country Day.

[player_tooltip player_id='1262278' first='Lincoln' last='Wise'] - Palisades - 6 Carries, 101 Rushing Yards, Rushing Touchdown

[player_tooltip player_id='1277000' first='Damonte' last='James'] - Central Cabarrus - 8 Carries, 180 Rushing Yards, 2 Rushing Touchdowns, Plus an Interception - Damonte has proven week in and week out that he is one of the best running backs in the state. He has rushed for 100-plus yards in nearly every game this season, and his playmaking ability will be important in their playoff game this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1321016' first='Cameron' last='Gandy'] - Southlake Christian - 21-30, 408 Passing Yards, 5 Passing Touchdowns - Cameron had a stellar game, showing off his arm strength and accuracy all over the field. I think this game will help remind coaches of the talent Cameron is, and hopefully help propel him to another strong offseason of continued growth before hitting camps next spring and summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1613651' first='Thomas' last='Jenkins'] - Southlake Christian - 6 Catches, 202 Receiving Yards

[player_tooltip player_id='1614066' first='Jaydin' last='Phillips'] - Forestview - Five Pancake Blocks, 4 Tackles, 2 Forced Fumbles - Jaydin is a tough road-grader as a center, and I like his initial pop and push in run blocking, especially. He also has a good attitude and consistently works to get better with his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1301243' first='Keland' last='Shelton Jr'] - Providence - 18 Tackles, 3 Sacks, Forced Fumble, 100 Yards In Return Yardage - Keland had a landmark game in a conference championship win for the Panthers. He really exploded as an EDGE/LB in this one, contributing to a total 11 sack effort. I feel like Keland is even a bit under the radar, believe it or not, for the talent that he is.

[player_tooltip player_id='904263' first='Chris' last='Wurster'] - Stuart Cramer - 10 Tackles, 2 Tackles For Loss, Pass Breakup

Jayden Nordveit - Lake Norman - 26 Carries, 131 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing Touchdown - Jayden really stepped up big for his Wildcats in this game, and he showed he can be the bellcow for an offense that works best when they have good balance between the run and the pass. He will be very important in the playoffs for Lake Norman.

Jeremy Mitchell - Lake Norman - 2 Interceptions & Strong Pass Coverage

[player_tooltip player_id='1240397' first='Dominic' last='Morin'] - Mooresville - Game Winning Touchdown Reception In Rival Game - Morin is a very talented 'X' receiver that made an X receiver type of play to win his team the game over their rival. In single coverage, QB [player_tooltip player_id='612118' first='Brody' last='Norman'] threw a nice fade to the back pylon of the end zone, and Mornin beautifully high-pointed the catch. Morin has a lot of college interests, and hopefully this play helps college coaches he the real talent he is.

[player_tooltip player_id='1129856' first='Jackson' last='Bordelon'] - Fuquay-Varina - Double Digit Tackles, 3 Tackles For Loss

[player_tooltip player_id='1301262' first='Josh' last='Falzarano Jr'] - Myers Park - 28 Carries, 208 Rushing Yards, 4 Rushing Touchdowns - Josh, as he has the majority of the season, helped carry the load for the running game for the Mustangs. The Myers Park offense starts with their ability to run the football, and I think they have a chance to contend if they're able to ride that running game throughout the 8A playoffs.

Alex Williams - Concord - 5 Tackles and 3 Tackles For Loss From Defensive Line

[player_tooltip player_id='1678644' first='Shammah' last='Cabell'] - Conley - 5 Catches, 107 Receiving Yards, 2 Receiving Touchdowns - Shammah has been a consistent threat all season for Conley, and he came up big for them in an important game before the state playoffs. I like his route running and strong hands, and the connection he has with his brother at the quarterback spot, [player_tooltip player_id='1310333' first='Samari' last='Cabell'], who had a big game himself as a dual-threat quarterback!

[player_tooltip player_id='1310333' first='Samari' last='Cabell'] - Conley - 141 Passing Yards, 2 Passing Touchdowns, Plus 157 Rushing Yards & 3 Rushing TD's

Jamarion Williams - Shelby - 10 Catches, 141 Receiving Yards, 2 Receiving Touchdowns

Romelo Wells - Burns - 20 Carries, 93 Rushing Yards, 3 Rushing Touchdowns - Burns star [player_tooltip player_id='1608319' first='Max' last='Davis'] wasn't 100 percent for this heated in-county rival game, but Romelo really stepped up and showed he can be a nice compliment to Max in the running game here. Even though Burns lost the game, I think they may have found a nice two-headed monster to use in the playoffs over the next few weeks.

AJ Davis - Concord - 2 Rushing Touchdowns, 1 Receiving Touchdown, 152 Total Yards Of Offense

[player_tooltip player_id='950969' first='Ryan' last='Peterson'] - Hough - Fumble Recovery Returned For Touchdown

[player_tooltip player_id='1626325' first='Brennen' last='Wallace'] - Christ The King - 170 Rushing Yards, 4 Rushing Touchdowns, 8 Tackles & A Sack

[player_tooltip player_id='1678647' first='Owen' last='Smith'] - South Rowan - 18 Total Tackles & 3 Tackles For Loss

Evan Hodges - Richmond County - 12-16, 377 Passing Yards, 5 Passing Touchdowns, 37 Rushing Yards - Richmond really delivered a strong message before the start of the state playoffs, defeating rival Pinecrest 58-27 and riding the talented arm of Hodges, who showed both great arm strength and accuracy in this one. If Evan remains this efficient through the playoffs, the Raiders are going to be a real threat to contend against almost anyone.

[player_tooltip player_id='1099168' first='Lan' last='Farmer'] - Shelby - 27-32, 311 Passing Yards, 3 Touchdown Passes, 2 Rushing Touchdowns

[player_tooltip player_id='1600223' first='Bryson' last='Simpkins'] - Monroe - 4 Receptions, 127 Receiving Yards, Touchdown Catch

[player_tooltip player_id='1321326' first='Jace' last='Goodwin'] - Providence Day - 7 Tackles, 3 Tackles For Loss, 3 Sacks, 5 Quarterback Hurries

[player_tooltip player_id='422544' first='Jamil' last='Watson'] - West Charlotte - 3 Rushing Touchdowns - Second Straight Week! - Jamil has stepped in on offense as the Lions have had some injuries they are working through in the backfield. I have been really impressed with how Jamil looks with the football in his hands, so much so that I am not sure that his future now is more on offense or defense - he's really a special athlete, and I'm interested to see how he handles opportunities going forward in the state playoffs.
