While he’s not the biggest guy, Falzarano isn’t afraid to run between the tackles. I was impressed with how he played against top competition, running for over 100 yards in games against Charlotte Christian, West Charlotte, and Mallard Creek, three teams with stout run defenses and excellent linebackers. He runs with great patience and pad level.

With 22 carries for 114 rushing yards and a touchdown run, I definitely think Josh and the Myers Park offensive line did their part in the running game to keep them on schedule offensively. For the season, Josh finished with 1390 yards rushing and 18 rushing touchdowns. He had a great senior year and really carried the load for a very good Myers Park team. I’m excited to see where he goes on the next level!

Josh was a good running back last season, but he’s taken it to a new level as the Mustangs have had a very strong season so far, emerging as an 8A state title contender. Josh has developed into a real bellcow type of back, shouldering the majority of the carries in a Mustang’s offense that has really exploded the last few weeks in both running and throwing the football.

Josh had a strong game overall, with two rushing touchdowns – one of them being for at least 50 yards. Josh showed some impressive speed and vision, and he runs with some nice pop and power in the interior run game in spite of his smaller stature. By the play count, it definitely appears Josh will get his opportunities as the RB1 for this Mustangs offense, and he could have a really big statistical year because of that.

Josh has been one of my favorite running backs for a little while because he is a threat both as a runner and a receiver. Josh put those traits on display very well at this showcase, showing why he is one of the top running backs in the Charlotte Metro Area. Linebackers had trouble staying with Josh in the pass game 1 on 1s, and Josh looked quick and decisive with the ball in his hands during the cat/mouse 1 on 1 period against linebackers. Josh picked up an offer from Concord University after his strong showcase performance.

Josh was the leading rusher for the Mustangs last season, and he is a threat in the open field to go the distance at any time. Josh has excellent speed and shows a good ability to get into the open field with agility and good vision to evade defenders. Josh was in a bit of a timeshare situation last season with another talented back, and now will have a good opportunity to shine as a primary back this upcoming season..
