Expert Analysis

Lewis was a man amongst boys on this field Saturday evening. He was everywhere – running plays down from the backside in the running game, consistently putting pressure on the quarterback in the passing game, and showing his emotions on multiple occasions, keeping himself and his defense motivated to play well throughout the game. We don’t have official stats, but I’m sure Lewis would be in double-digit tackles for this one.

A big, long defensive lineman, I thought Lewis might grow into an interior guy, but it’s clear at this point that he’s going to stay on the edge. His length and strength both show themselves on film and as he continues to develop his bend, he’s going to become a feared pass-rusher. Right now, a lot of his sacks are “hustle sacks” and as the pass-rush moves develop, he could come close to reaching his future college potential as a Power Four starter.

As we continue looking at some of these impressive national-level talents, Damaad has picked up a ton of Power 4 offers this season as schools learned about the impressive physical talent Damaad is up close. As I have said before, when seeing Damaad up close, you see why he is a high-level college talent. The technique at the snap, the mix of pass rush moves, and the ability to set the edge in the run game are all top-tier. For a first-year school, teams ran away from Damaad and schemed against him a good bit, but going into his senior year I expect he will make an even bigger impact on the field. Damaad will have his pick of colleges to choose from once we get to the fall.

I just wrote about Damaad in our 704 Junior Bowl series so I won’t belabor the analysis here, but I will share that he is a newcomer to our rankings because Damaad came into a brand new Ballantyne Ridge program from the West Coast right before the season began. Damaad is simply a Power 4 EDGE prospect with the physical frame and traits to do well on the next level. Damaad was recently offered by Appalachian State and has visits to NC State and Southern California planned.

Another well kept secret is this young man, who came to the 1st year Ballantyne Ridge program from the West Coast, where Damaad had offers from California, Washington, and Nevada – an impressive slate. Damaad recently received an offer from Troy, and I got a chance to see him up close. A lot of teams ran away from him, but his motor is impressive. Even facing double and triple teams, Damaad still managed to make Impactful plays as a pass rusher. He is a high level EDGE player, and an easy selection for this Junior Bowl team.
