Myers Park didn’t get a lot going consistently in the passing game in this one, but Portis had the most juice out of their receiving core here. His blazing speed allowed the Mustangs to hit him for a 43-yard TD pass, beating two West Charlotte defensive backs in coverage. There were some other times where Chaz was open, but couldn’t get the ball on him consistently. I’m excited to see what Chaz does on the next level, he can be a dangerous playmaker in space.

Chaz got the game started with a bang, returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown and giving the Mustangs a lead that they would never relinquish. Chaz didn’t see a ton of opportunities in the passing game, but with the margin of the game and the running game working well, Chaz wasn’t needed as much there. In future games, pairing with

Portis isn’t the biggest receiver, but he can fly with true 4.4 speed. He knows not only how to get behind defenders, but how to then find open space and make himself available for the throw. Most of his routes stem vertically, but he can get inside as well and he’s dangerous with the ball after the catch.
