Coming off of an epic performance in the 3A State Championship game, Lan showed that he could play well against any level of competition. After that, Lan showed accuracy to all areas of the field, and showed that he could run the ball a bit as a dual-threat type of quarterback. Lan finished 8-14 for 126 passing yards and a TD pass, also having 7 rushes for 29 yards.

What made the performance even more impressive was Farmer’s sheer size and physicality. He is a massive quarterback, and even when Kinston was able to get hands on him, they rarely brought him down cleanly. He consistently broke tackles, extended plays, and punished defenders trying to contain him.

Farmer just completed one of the best senior seasons in state history, capped by a 10(!) touchdown performance in the state championship game, but he’s been on our radar for much longer than that. Farmer has prototypical size and arm talent, and he’s shown the ability to push the ball down the field with accuracy. He’s picked up a few recent offers, but has yet to commit.

The senior was nearly flawless in the semifinals, completing 11 of 15 passes for 228 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding 83 tough yards on the ground. His blend of size, poise, and playmaking ability continues to separate him as one of the most dominant offensive forces in the state.

Lan recently became the All-Time leading passer for touchdowns in Shelby history, a very notable feat for a school that has had some really talented quarterbacks throughout recent years. We have rated Lan very highly here at Prep Redzone North Carolina and believe his talents are at an All-State level. Shelby has been good this year, and their offense consistently has been the engine for their success all year long. This is the type of game where Lan could put on a show offensively.
