Expert Analysis

Kaveaun was featured on multiple occasions as an offensive player of the week for the numbers he put up in South Point’s strong rushing offense. The thing with Kaveaun is, he’s not just a product of the system. I identified him even before he went to the Red Raiders as a talented player with a ton of potential with the football in his hands. Kaveaun has a nice blend of speed, power, and vision that maximizes his abilities in the South Point offensive system. Because of that, camps and showcases will be important to show what he can do outside of the system from a recruiting perspective, so I’m interested to see him as camp season gets going in full swing.

Pless put together a breakout sophomore campaign that immediately puts him on the radar as one of the more productive young backs in the region. Finishing the season with over 1,800 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns, he showed an advanced ability to carry an offense despite his age. His production speaks to consistency, durability, and big-play capability, especially for a sophomore facing varsity defenses week in and week out. Pless runs with confidence, finishes runs, and has the vision to maximize every carry. With that level of output so early in his career, his ceiling is high, and he’s a name college programs will want to monitor closely as he continues to develop physically and refine his game.

Pless’ massive frame and elite acceleration make him a lab-built back for South Point’s Wing T offense. He’s close to full speed by the time he hits the line of scrimmage, even with his fullback alignment close to the line. When he’s in the open field, it’s over, as few high schoolers are going to catch him. The only question for college coaches is how they think he adjusts to a college offense, because the physical capabilities are off the charts.
