<p>Week 3 saw some good football in the Charlotte Metro Area as we take a look at some of the big games and who stood out for each team as a player in the first Rapid Recap series. </p>

<p><em>Statesville 24 Hopewell 21</em> </p>

<p>The Greyhounds continue to play well, earning a win in the first game on their new turf in their home stadium. The Greyhounds played two quarterbacks, but the running game produced behind their big offensive line, led by <strong>Corddarius Neal</strong> and <strong>Joshua Terry</strong>. Hopewell has played tough under new Head Coach Brandon Sneed, and quarterback <strong>Malachi Goudelock</strong> has been a pleasant surprise to start the season. </p>

<p><em>Mooresville 52 AL Brown 13</em></p>

<p>The big story here is the performance of Blue Devils QB <strong>Brody Norma</strong>n. After a tough start in Week 1, Norman's progress has been impressive, as he went 13-13 for 273 yards and 5 touchdowns. 4 of those touchdowns went to WR <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1240397' first='Dominic' last='Morin']</strong> and TE <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='327286' first='Gavin' last='Barber']</strong>, who had a big game with 6 catches for 112 yards. </p>

<p><em>Providence Day 32 Charlotte Catholic 7 </em></p>

<p>The Chargers played very well in defeating the Cougars in a private school showdown in the Queen City. QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='896157' first='Zaid' last='Lott']</strong> had an awesome game for Providence Day, throwing for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns while also rushing for 117 yards. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='800901' first='Gordon' last='Sellars']</strong> broke out with 10 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1239187' first='Caleb' last='Cooper']</strong> had a nice game from his DB spot with 13 tackles, while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1029786' first='Griff' last='Galloway']</strong> continues to impress with 10 tackles, a tackle for loss, and a fumble recovery. </p>

<p><em>Lake Norman 56 West Cabarrus 16</em></p>

<p>The Wildcats continue to play very well and impress, and while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1616126' first='Kaden' last='Craft']</strong> has played some efficient football, it's been the power of their running game that has led the charge. <strong>Allen Jones</strong>, who goes by "Bruno" had another big game with 183 yards on only SIX carries and 2 touchdowns. Craft had 3 touchdown passes to three different receivers, and the defense continued to play complementary football. </p>

<p><em>Weddington 49 Monroe 7</em></p>

<p>After coming off a rare home loss, the Warriors took out their frustration on a Monroe team playing a very tough schedule in a big victory. The Warriors' defense, led by the usual suspects of<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='951444' first='Andrew' last='Harris']</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='823700' first='Aiden' last='Harris']</strong>, and <strong>Thomas Davis Jr </strong>held star Monroe QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='473849' first='Jysen' last='Shepherd']</strong> to 134 yards passing and only 118 rushing yards. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1321106' first='Kelson' last='Tate'] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1704986' first='Jonathan' last='Manley']</strong> continue to lead the offensive attack for the Warriors. </p>

<p><em>Independence 35 Charlotte Christian 34</em></p>

<p>The Patriots and the Knights played a heck of a game over in Mint Hill this past Friday Night, and several players stood out. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='915835' first='Jared' last='Street']</strong> is continuing his redemption tour this season, throwing for 272 yards and 3 touchdowns, while also rushing for 70 yards. RB <strong>Travis Hill</strong>, filling in for star [player_tooltip player_id='1124842' first='Jayden' last='Jones'] out due to injury, rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown as well. For Charlotte Christian, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1106930' first='Jamal' last='Rule']</strong> went out and was on a mission, rushing for 293 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns. LB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='736967' first='Cohen' last='Kilgannon']</strong> for Christian also had a nice game with 13 tackles. </p>
