Expert Analysis
Matt Morrow | Prep Redzone Scout
As I said previously in the 704 Junior Bowl article, Jared really did have an impressive season last year, in my honest opinion. I liked his command of the Independence offense, and he made some smart decisions with the football on a consistent basis. From a recruiting standpoint, Jared had a strong offseason last year, picking up offers from multiple college football programs. He’s got some Junior Day Invites from multiple schools already, and after an All-Conference performance last year, I’m excited to see what his senior season delivers.

Throwing for nearly 2500 yards and 19 touchdowns, while rushing for over 500 yards, Jared had a very strong junior year for a Patriots team that made it to the very tough 7A Western Semifinals. I was impressed with the growth in Jared’s game in a major step up in competition from his sophomore year at West Cabarrus. His trajectory is all pointing upwards, and college football programs should take notice of that. His timing, accuracy, and decision-making are all much improved in my opinion. Being named a team captain is a reflection of his leadership, and I’m excited to see what he does in his senior year. He’s a strong contender for this 704 Junior Bowl team.

Read EvaluationWill Helms | Prep Redzone Scout
A former West Cabarrus transfer, Street excelled in his first year at the helm of the Independence offense, spreading the ball around well with over 2,300 yards. He’s a point guard type who makes quick reads out of shotgun and empty sets, and he’s a “route over player” type who finds the open guy, rather than trying to force it to his best. That puts pressure on defenses to cover the whole field.

The Patriots’ signal caller had a good game here, operating the offense with smart decisions and efficiency all night long. Jared’s 2 touchdown passes showed off his varied skill set. His first one was a simple hitch route, but the timing on the throw and placement allowed his receiver to make the catch, turn, and make a move on the defense in order to get into the end zone. The second one was a seam route where he ripped it to an open receiver where he was the only one that could make the play. Jared finished 9-16 passing for 213 passing yards and 2 touchdowns.
