The Kilgannon twins are two of the most underrated players in the state, regardless of position. Part of a trio of impressive uncommitted Charlotte Christian linebackers, Cohen has college size and speed, able to fit gaps in the running game. Always a tackling machine, Kilgannon flashed coverage upside down the stretch, answering one of the final questions in his profile.

One of the top uncommitted prospects in our 2026 rankings, Kilgannon hasn’t gotten the traction on the recruiting trail that he deserves. But, his athletic upside is immense and he’s growing as a true linebacker after playing a lot of offense early in his career. He’s up over 220 pounds and can really move, especially laterally, giving him real sideline-to-sideline potential.

I thought Cohen showed to be a strong force in the middle of the Knights defense this past season. Cohen does a good job of shutting down the run and tackling ball carriers from the middle linebacker position. With an offer from Colgate in hand, Cohen should continue to see interest rise for him going into his senior season from a recruiting perspective.

Kilgannon moves extremely well for his size, which should endear him to college scouts. Unlike most high-upside high school linebackers, he’s not going to need much time in a college weight room to contribute at the next level. But he’s more than an athlete. He understands what the offense is trying to do and puts himself in position to make plays, especially in the running game.

An All-Conference and All-County selection last season, the most important thing I noticed about Cohen is his 4.3 GPA he lists on his Twitter profile. Impressive stuff. As it sounds, he is the aforementioned Ryder’s brother and good football definitely runs in the family. Offers also run in the family, as both Cornell and Lenoir-Rhyne have offered Cohen as well to play college football. The biggest difference between Ryder and Cohen I think is Cohen is much more of a middle linebacker. He does a great job in stopping the run and making tackles in space. I think also his football intelligence is off the charts – he can read and diagnose plays before they happen and sniff them out for no gain or even losses on the play.

Kilgannon is an impressive two-sport athlete who is just hitting his stride on the gridiron as an athletic middle linebacker and goalline running back. His best position is probably middle linebacker, where he uses his high football IQ to read and diagnose plays. He’s put on a good bit of healthy weight in the last year but hasn’t lost his quickness. Kilgannon is also a standout in the classroom and is probably a great pickup for an Ivy League team, as evidenced by his recent Cornell offer.
