WEEK ONE'S TOP PERFORMERS

[player_tooltip player_id='1005610' first='Austin' last='Solis'] - Senior Running Back/Linebacker - Mangum

Mangum kicked off their 2024 football season on Friday night with a strong win over Wilson. Senior running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1005610' first='Austin' last='Solis'] got off to a great start as it was really a balanced victory all around. Solis would finish the night with 100 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. He would also throw a 36-yard touchdown pass for the Tigers. But he would have an impact on the defensive side of the ball as well. Solis would finish the night with six tackles, including three of them coming behind the line of scrimmage. Mangum is one of the teams to beat in Class A-2 and they've gotten off to a solid start.

Beau McFarland - Senior Linebacker - Wagoner

Highway 51 continues to be owned by Wagoner as the Bulldogs rolled to a 36-7 victory over rival Coweta on Friday night. Senior linebacker Beau McFarland made his first career start for the Bulldogs and he shined bright for head coach Dale Condict, who was honored prior to the game as Wagoner rennamed their stadium to Dale Condict Stadium. McFarland finished the night with 12 tackles, five of which came for a loss and he also had a sack and a fumble recovery. McFarland absolutely got after it throughout the night and gave Coweta and their young offense problems throughout the season opener.

[player_tooltip player_id='1082649' first='Brad' last='Hoisington'] - Senior Quarterback - Claremore

Claremore opened their 2024 football season with an exciting 35-33 win over Bartlesville on Friday night. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1082649' first='Brad' last='Hoisington'] helped carry the Zebras to the week one win. Hoisington is new to the Claremore program after starting for Oologah last season. He put up big numbers on offense in his first game with the Zebras on Friday night. He was 4-12 for nearly 100 yards and a touchdown but his greatest impact came on the ground. He finished the night with nearly 200 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. It was a nice first game out for Hoisington and the Zebras.

[player_tooltip player_id='215570' first='Brady' last='Mcadoo'] - Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Tuttle

For the second straight week, Tuttle senior [player_tooltip player_id='215570' first='Brady' last='Mcadoo'] finds himself on this breakdown. Last week, it was his late game heroics in the win over Guthrie. This week, it's another stellar performance from him on both sides of the ball that gets the nod after their 21-0 win over Newcastle. Mcadoo accounted for all three of Tuttle's touchdowns Friday night. He finished with six catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns while also adding a rushing touchdown on offense. Defensively, Mcadoo would finish the night with five tackles and provided an impact there as well. There's no doubt he's off to a strong start this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='382955' first='Brady' last='Scott'] - Junior Athlete - Hilldale

Hilldale opened the 2024 football season with a dominant win at Edison. The offense was rolling from start to finish and junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='382955' first='Brady' last='Scott'] was a big reason behind that. He had a breakout sophomore season at wide receiver but on Friday night, we saw him move to the backfield and he had quite an impact as a running back. Offensively, Scott would finish the night with three touchdowns on the ground and he also had a punt return that he took back for his fourth touchdown on the night. When Scott gets out into the open field, he's going to be tough to stop and he did multiple times in week one.

[player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] - Senior Running Back - Pauls Valley

Just like Mcadoo at Tuttle, Pauls Valley senior running back and Baylor commit [player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] is on this breakdown for the second consecutive week. The Panthers rolled to an easy win over Davis on Friday night and Knighten was dominant once again. He would finish the night with 175 rushing yards and over 100 receiving yards as well. He would account for all four of Pauls Valley's touchdowns as the Panthers improved to 2-0 on the season. As we mentioned last week with Knighten, it has to feel good to be back on the field and at 100 percent. And when he's healthy, it's clear that Knighten is one of the best in Oklahoma.

[player_tooltip player_id='284114' first='Carson' last='Kirby'] - Junior Quarterback - Bixby

Following a tough loss to Owasso on the road, it was time to bounce back for the Bixby Spartans. And junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='284114' first='Carson' last='Kirby'] definitely led the way in that department as they put up 50 points and rolled to a win over Sand Springs. Kirby would finish the night with over 400 yards and three touchdowns on 32-44 passing. He also added 50 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Kirby had a tough night against Owasso in week zero but he definitely has put that behind him and it was good to see him come out and execute at a very high level on Friday night. Kirby and the Spartans have this week off.

[player_tooltip player_id='1333179' first='Carter' last='Nathman'] - Junior Wide Receiver - Cascia Hall

Last week, we were writing about Cascia Hall's Alex Nathman our weekly Top Performer post but this week it's older brother [player_tooltip player_id='1333179' first='Carter' last='Nathman'] who gets the nod for his work in their dominant win over Rejoice Christian. The junior wide receiver missed the season opener last week against Holland Hall but returned with a vengeance this week. He would finish the night with three catches for well over 100 yards and all three catches went for touchdowns. On defense, Nathman also had four tackles with an interception and a fumble recovery. It's been a fun two weeks for the Nathman brothers and this Cascia Hall offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] - Freshman Quarterback - Washington

We've already written quite a bit about Washington freshman quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] but this weekend, he definitely deserves it. Barrett threw the game-winning touchdown in double overtime to beat Sulphur and help the Warriors win their 32nd consecutive game. And Barrett was outstanding throughout the night as the Warriors kept that winning streak in tact. Barrett threw for well over 400 yards on 26-37 passing and three touchdowns. But no touchdown was bigger than that game-winner. We're only two games into Barrett's varsity career but he's already shown us quite a bit this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='884992' first='Dawson' last='Fullingim'] - Senior Fullback/Defensive Lineman - Lincoln Christian

Lincoln Christian went on the road and beat Heritage Hall 28-20 in a rematch of last year's state championship game. Like we mentioned in the game breakdown, it's tough to pick just one player from the Bulldogs but we're giving the nod to senior [player_tooltip player_id='884992' first='Dawson' last='Fullingim'] for his impact on both sides of the ball. Fullingim was a big part of the Lincoln Christian front seven that absolutely terrorized Heritage Hall's quarterbacks. He had a solid day on defense but he also turned around and was a problem on offense. He finished with over 100 yards of total offense and two rushing touchdowns as a power runner.

[player_tooltip player_id='1549975' first='Dontre' last='Garfield'] - Senior Quarterback - Seminole

Seminole went on the road and got a great win over a very talented Checotah squad and it was a breakout performance from senior [player_tooltip player_id='1549975' first='Dontre' last='Garfield'] as he could not be stopped on Friday night. In a game that featured one of the best players in Oklahoma, Garfield might have had the better performance as he totaled nearly 400 yards of offense in the win. He threw for 165 yards and three touchdowns on 10-16 passing. But he was also a workhorse runner, finishing with well over 200 yards and four touchdowns after totaling 28 carries. Garfield is a new name for our radar but he's one to watch throughout the rest of this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1525562' first='Greydon' last='Howell'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Broken Bow

Broken Bow sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1525562' first='Greydon' last='Howell'] got on our radar earlier this week after watching some of his highlights from week zero against McAlester. Even though they lost, he was one of the best players on the field. This week, Broken Bow beat Durant and Howell was once again one of the best players on the field. The numbers he put up are just out of this world and he's quickly become one of the breakout stars in Oklahoma just two weeks into the season. He had over 200 passing yards and two touchdowns as well as nearly 250 rushing yards and four touchdowns. He also had an interception on defense.

Izaiah Roberson - Sophomore Running Back - Edmond North

Edmond North got our attention by beating rival Edmond Santa Fe 41-35 on Friday night. They had a balanced offensive attack that really dominated on the offensive side of the ball. As a team, they would run for more than 250 yards as a squad but they had a breakout performance from sophomore Izaiah Roberson at the running back position. Roberson would finish the night with 150 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. Roberson put up some big time numbers throughout the night and he's going to be a name to watch throughout this season as Edmond North looks to make some more noise.

[player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] - Senior Quarterback - Muskogee

Over in Arkansas, Muskogee had to rally in the final minute to beat Rogers. And it should come as no surprise but senior quarterback and Texas State commit [player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] led the Roughers to that win in the final minute. Ficklin would account for over 250 yards of total offense and three touchdowns. But no touchdown was more important than the game-winner with less than a minute to play to put Muskogee up and help the defending 6A-2 champs come back to Oklahoma with the win. Ficklin is one of the very best football players in Oklahoma and on Friday night, that extended to Arkansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='379243' first='Jax' last='Bernard'] - Senior Quarterback - Fairview

Just like Barrett and Washington, Fairview needed some late game heroics from their quarterback to extend their winning streak to 32 consecutive games. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='379243' first='Jax' last='Bernard'] would break a 28-28 tie by throwing the game-winning touchdown with less than a minute to play. That would cap off a night where he threw for over 150 yards and two touchdowns and he also ran for nearly 100 yards and three touchdowns. Bernard has led Fairview to back to back state championships and in our opinion, he's one of the very best quarterbacks in Oklahoma. He played like it once again on Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='595670' first='John' last='Mark Roller'] - Senior Quarterback - Regent Prep

It was a historic night for Regent Prep football as they would beat Haskell on the road to open their 2024 football season. It was the first 11-man football game in program history and senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='595670' first='John' last='Mark Roller'] would make the historic night a memorable one. Roller was absolutely dominant in the win. He threw for over 350 yards and five touchdowns on 23-36 passing. He wasn't done there. The dominant senior signal caller would also add over 100 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Roller is going to be one of the best players in Class A-2 this season and it doesn't matter if there are eight or eleven guys on the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='1549990' first='Marquise' last='Harris'] - Senior Running Back - Lawton MacArthur

Lawton MacArthur bounced back from a week zero loss to Elgin by beating up on rival Lawton Eisenhower on Friday night. The Highlanders would put up 50+ points as an offense and leading the way was senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1549990' first='Marquise' last='Harris'] and a dominating ground game. Harris would finish the night with nearly 300 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Harris was a workhorse back for the Highlander offense as he finished with nearly 30 carries on the night. A lot of attention goes to the Lawton Mac passing game but don't overlook Harris and his ability to carry this Highlander offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='655747' first='Mason' last='Schubert'] - Senior Quarterback - Stillwater

Stillwater beating Union 36-35 in overtime was obviously one of the headline outcomes from week one. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='655747' first='Mason' last='Schubert'] was making his first start for the Pioneers after moving to Stillwater from Morrison. We knew that Schubert would fit right in and have a solid senior season but he exceeded any preseason expectations after Friday night. He threw for well over 100 yards and three touchdowns on 6-12 passing and also added nearly 50 yards and an overtime touchdown on the ground. And instead of kicking the PAT, Stillwater went for the win and Schubert ran it in to give the Pioneers the dub.

[player_tooltip player_id='424595' first='Masyn' last='Wright'] - Junior Athlete - Vian

2A-1's top-ranked Vian rolled to a season-opening win over Eufaula but they were certainly tested. And that meant that junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='424595' first='Masyn' last='Wright'] had to perform at an incredibly high level and he answered the call. He finished the night with nearly 250 yards on the ground on 25 carries and four touchdowns in the win. Vian has high expectations coming into this season. They want to finally capture that elusive state championship and having a player like Wright, who is probably the best player in Class 2A-2 will certainly give them the ability to contend for that state championship.

[player_tooltip player_id='353411' first='Nate' last='Roberts'] - Senior Tight End - Washington

We try to not pick two players from the same team on these "Top Performer" feature but we have to break our own rules here. Washington senior tight end and Ohio State commit [player_tooltip player_id='353411' first='Nate' last='Roberts'] was on the other end of that Barrett touchdown pass that gave Washington the win in double overtime over Sulphur. Roberts is off to a great start this season and has become the top target for a young freshman quarterback who's enjoying a breakout season. That also means that Roberts is putting up monster numbers in just two games. Look for the Ohio State commit to continue dominating this fall.

Owasso's Offensive Line

This is a bit of a copout pick but just like with adding Roberts to this breakdown, we can pick the entire Owasso offensive line. Led by D1 commits [player_tooltip player_id='350246' first='Blake' last='Cherry'] and [player_tooltip player_id='350245' first='Ryker' last='Haff'] as well as several younger prospects who could end up at that level, Owasso's offensive line was dominant in another statement win Friday night at Jenks. Owasso ran for well over 250 yards in the win over Jenks but number is even more impressive when you find out that they had negative six yards on the ground after the first quarter. They maul teams for all four quarters and that's a big reason why they outscored Jenks 28-10 in the second half.

[player_tooltip player_id='211962' first='Phoenix' last='Murphy'] - Senior Quarterback - Norman

It was a historic season opener for Norman senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211962' first='Phoenix' last='Murphy'] as they knocked off rival Norman North 37-27. Murphy and this Norman offense could not be stopped and the senior would throw for a school-record 471 yards and four touchdowns on 20-33 passing. Murphy had a solid junior season but we knew that coming into this year, he would need to take that next step if the Tigers were going to threaten teams in Class 6A-1. Well, after just one game, it's clear that he has and he's primed for a monster 2024 football season. His brother Ryder emerged as his top target on Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='437049' first='Sawyer' last='Rice'] - Junior Quarterback - Duncan

For the second straight week, Duncan needed to rally in the second half to get out with a win and for the second straight week, junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='437049' first='Sawyer' last='Rice'] led that rally. It's probably not the way you want to play every week but there's no denying that when Rice and the Demons have their backs against the wall, they will be able to respond. Rice and the Demons rallied to beat Cache on the road in week one after rallying to beat Bridge Creek in week zero. The Demons will need Rice to play at a high level again in week two because they'll host a Guthrie team that is one of the best in Class 5A.

[player_tooltip player_id='1018641' first='Scott' last='Rigby'] - Junior Running Back - Collinsville

Collinsville hit the field for the first time in 2024 and rolled to an easy win over Oologah. The Cardinals had a solid showing from several players but we're putting the spotlight on junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='1018641' first='Scott' last='Rigby'] after he had well over 100 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. He also had a long kick return that set up a score. The Cardinals were rolling on the offensive side of the ball and this is going to be an offense that is tough to defend all season because of the balance that they play with. Rigby is a big reason why the Cardinals are going to be one of the top teams in Class 5A throughout this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1161908' first='Teaguen' last='Collins'] - Junior Athlete - Muldrow

Muldrow opened their 2024 football season with a solid rivalry win over Roland on Thursday night. Coming into this season, we thought that junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='1161908' first='Teaguen' last='Collins'] was primed for a big season but he came out and immediately caught our attention. In the season opener, Collins could not be stopped. He would throw for just over 150 yards and two touchdowns on 10-14 passing. He also ran for nearly 200 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries. And as if that wasn't enough, he also returned a kick for his sixth touchdown on the night. Collins is going to be fun to watch in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='428958' first='Titan' last='Hix'] - Junior Quarterback - Locust Grove

Locust Grove is 2-0 to start their 2024 season and there is no doubt that the Pirates will go as far as junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='428958' first='Titan' last='Hix'] will take them. Hix was dominant for the second straight week as the Pirates would beat rival Salina on Thursday night. The junior would finish with nearly 300 yards passing and a touchdown on 15-24 passing. But the majority of Hix's production came on the ground. He finished the night with 128 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 30 carries. This is the second straight week that Hix has put up monster numbers and we'll be keeping an eye on him and the Pirates this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='998363' first='Trajan' last='Williamson'] - Senior Quarterback - Mustang

Mustang dominated Yukon in their season opener and it was a great moment for senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='998363' first='Trajan' last='Williamson'] as he returned to the Mustang backfield. He had his junior season cut short in early October. On Friday night, Williamson and the Mustang offense could not be stopped. He would throw for well over 300 yards and five touchdowns on an eye-opening 21-23 passing. He also added 65 yards and a touchdown on ten carries. The last time we watched Williamson, he was doing most of his work on the ground. The passing numbers that he put up Friday should definitely open some more eyes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1325101' first='Vann' last='Wildcat'] - Sophomore Running Back/Linebacker - Pawhuska

Pawhuska is 2-0 on the season after absolutely handling Meeker on Friday night. The Huskies were led on both sides of the ball by a sophomore who is primed for a monster 2024 football season. Running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1325101' first='Vann' last='Wildcat'] had a solid performance on both sides of the ball in the win. He finished with nearly 70 yards on just six carries and a touchdown. He also caught two passes for 24 yards but was absolutely dominant on defense. He finished the night with 11 tackles on the night and two of them came from behind the line of scrimmage. He also had an interception on Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1109322' first='Zyhir' last='Fisher'] - Senior Defensive Back - Deer Creek

When it comes to Deer Creek's win over Edmond Memorial. We could have gone with several players from their offense that outscored the Bulldogs 24-0 in the final ten minutes to win. But we're giving the nod to senior defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1109322' first='Zyhir' last='Fisher'] this week. The Deer Creek newcomer had a huge performance on defense, finishing with five tackles and three pass break ups but it was the three interceptions that gets him on this list. Edmond Memorial has one of the top passing attacks in Class 6A-1 and for Fisher to produce at that level in such a big game early on, you have to tip your cap to that.
