The 4th annual PRZ Sooner State Shootout took place in Broken Arrow this weekend and we had over 100 teams from this region competing on Saturday and Sunday. In the 18U division, we saw a ton of talent from start to finish. In this breakdown, we're emptying our notebook with notes on ten different players that grabbed our attention this weekend. We have more players featured in team-specific spotlights and other breakdowns. You can check out all of our Sooner State Shootout coverage at this link. We'll have more highlights of these players and more up on our YouTube Channel later in the week!

[player_tooltip player_id='2124514' first='Austin' last='Eshelman'] - 2029 Wide Receiver - Gameday Elite

Wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2124514' first='Austin' last='Eshelman'] from Gameday Elite is the only freshman on this breakdown and he's a 2029 prospect we're intrigued by moving forward because of his production in 2025. Eshelman was productive this weekend, making some big catches down the field. His ability to make big catches in coverage was something that really stuck out to us throughout the day on Saturday. Eshelman is a name to remember moving forward because of his ability to fill up the stat sheet.

[player_tooltip player_id='1838872' first='Cameron' last='Quarrels Jr'] - 2027 Wide Receiver - F3 Dawgs

In our opinion, 2027 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1838872' first='Cameron' last='Quarrels Jr'] is one of the more underrated athletes in Oklahoma's 2027 class. His overall athleticism was on full display throughout the weekend but on Saturday in particular. Quarrels knows how to get open and make plays. Last fall was his first season in Oklahoma after moving in and he made the most of his opportunity. Now, he looks to be the number one target in the Edmond Memorial offense and one of the top receivers in 6A-1.

[player_tooltip player_id='1167272' first='Cimone' last='Smitherman'] - 2028 Athlete - CHJ Elite

CHJ Elite 2028 athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1167272' first='Cimone' last='Smitherman'] continues to impress us every time we see him in person. He's one of those prospects that is going to pass the eye test when you see him in person. This weekend, Smitherman really impressed us as a big body target on the offensive side of the ball. Prior to this weekend, we've mostly watched him working on the defensive side of the ball. On Saturday, he was a red zone nightmare for defenses. He made a couple nice jump ball receptions.

Corbin Filion - 2028 Wide Receiver - EMP1RE

EMP1RE had some absolute freaks on their roster but an underrated player to keep an eye on is 2028 Corbin Filion at the wide receiver position. Taking a look back at some of our notes, we had him listed as a player who absolutely ate up the flats and the intermediate routes. And then after making the catch, he was incredibly slippery with sudden cuts and moves to get up field in a hurry. He really impressed us with his ability after the catch and gave EMP1RE another big threat on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1681520' first='Dante' last='Ussery'] - 2028 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - F3 Dawgs

We are fired up to watch more of 2028 wide receiver and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1681520' first='Dante' last='Ussery'] moving forward. He played for the F3 Dawgs this weekend with his Edmond Memorial teammates. And he was making a ton of plays on both sides of the ball. Normally, we lean one way or another on a two-way player as to which side of the ball we like him more. Ussery was equally valuable on both sides. He was a name we didn't know about coming into the weekend but we'll definitely be watching more of him moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='2141761' first='Gavanni' last='Lewis'] - 2027 Wide Receiver - SayLess

2027 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2141761' first='Gavanni' last='Lewis'] had one of the best catches that we caught on camera during day one of the tournament. You'll be able to catch it on our YouTube Channel later this week. But Lewis had a solid performance overall in addition to that big time catch. But on that play, Lewis made a touchdown catch over a defender and finished through plenty of contact and physical play from the DB. Lewis would then make a killing with intermediate routes in other pool play games while we were watching.

[player_tooltip player_id='2108477' first='Ian' last='Willis'] - 2027 Wide Receiver - Gameday Elite

2027 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2108477' first='Ian' last='Willis'] had a strong showing at our Showcase a couple weeks ago and he turned around and performed incredibly well at our tournament this weekend. Playing with Gameday Elite, Willis did a good job working the middle of the field and sitting down in the soft spots of the defense's zone. He had a unique combination of finding open space while also creating space for him to work with. It made him one of their top targets on the offensive side of the ball. He's had a really strong month.

[player_tooltip player_id='1838544' first='Jax' last='Chambliss'] - 2028 Wide Receiver - 918 Smoke

2028 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1838544' first='Jax' last='Chambliss'] is the first of two players from 918 Smoke on this breakdown. Chambliss stood out to us early on Saturday during pool play. He caught the ball in traffic incredibly well and clearly had really strong hand-eye-coordination throughout the morning. He also made a deep catch on a play where he showed really strong body control and went up and got the ball at the right time. This was a fun group to watch offensively on Saturday and Chambliss was just one piece.

Landyn May - 2026 Wide Receiver - Nebraska Red Wolves

We didn't have many but we had a handful of 2026 prospects that participated in our tournament this weekend. Wide receiver Landyn May from the Nebraska Red Wolves was one of them and he performed incredibly well during pool play on Saturday. Nebraska Red Wolves have been a mainstay at our Oklahoma tournaments over the last few years. May made the trip down to run with this crew one more time. He caught our attention and earned Top Performer honors during Saturday's action.

[player_tooltip player_id='2130279' first='Trey' last='Ross'] - 2027 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - 918 Smoke

2027 wide receiver and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='2130279' first='Trey' last='Ross'] is the other standout from 918 Smoke on this breakdown. While Chambliss was doing almost all of his work on offense, Ross was one of the better two-way players that we watched on Saturday morning. Ross was making some big time catches on offense, including a few that went for scores. And he turned around and was a menace on the defensive side of the ball. He's another name we didn't know about prior to the tourney and now he's squarely on our radar.
