When we look at the ten quarterbacks on this breakdown, Norman signal caller

is definitely the most improved of the bunch. At this time last year, he probably wouldn’t have been in this breakdown but it’s like everything has clicked and the light has come on for Murphy this season. He is one of the more improved overall players in the state and made a big jump up in the recent ranking update. Last week, we added Murphy to our PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year Watchlist because he’s been one of the more productive quarterbacks in the state, regardless of class. And he’s doing it against some of the top competition in Oklahoma.

was definitely on the shortlist of most improved players during last fall in our minds. He went from a guy that played occasionally as a sophomore to one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in 6A-1 football as a junior. Murphy would finish with nearly 2,000 yards and 17 touchdowns passing and also added nearly 600 yards and a handful of touchdowns on the ground. Murphy will be the triggerman of a Norman offense that has a ton of potential. He has weapons around him and a strong offensive line. All signs point to a big 2024 season for Murphy.

is the only quarterback on this week’s breakdown and his film definitely impressed us from beginning to end. The biggest thing that we’re taking away from looking at Murphy’s film and his production last season is the growth he had as a signal caller from August to November. He appeared to make a big jump and some of his best plays appeared to come later in the season. There were times when Murphy was an absolute magician in the pocket. With the defense crashing down on him, he had an uncanny ability to wiggle out of harms way, keep the play alive and make something happen out of a potential disaster. Murphy is an underrated athlete as well because there were times when he took off and next thing you know he’s in the end zone after a 60-yard touchdown run. But Murphy always keeps his eyes down field and while he can be dynamic as a runner, he’s still a pass-first quarterback and he delivered some absolute bullets last season as a junior. There is a lot to like with his film from last season and he’s going to be a quarterback to keep an eye on moving forward in a very deep 2025 QB class.
