continues to have a stranglehold on the top spot for the 2028 quarterback group. Barrett has started for the Warriors since the first game of his freshman season. He’s 26-2 as a starter and has made back to back appearances in the state championship game. We’ve seen some of the best QB prospects in the state make a significant jump from their sophomore to junior year over the last few seasons. We’ll be keeping an eye on that for Barrett this fall. After coming up short in the 2A-1 state title game to Jones, we have a feeling that Barrett and the Warriors are going to come into the 2026 season hungrier than ever.

continues to have a stranglehold on the top quarterback spot in the state’s 2028 class. Barrett ran away with the Freshman Of The Year award last fall and has picked up right where he left off last season. We wrote about Barrett earlier this week, before their big district showdown with Marlow. In our opinion, Barrett is not only a solid QB prospect but he’s one of those “big game players” and he typically shines in the biggest contests. In that game against Marlow, Barrett ran in the game-winning touchdown with less than 90 seconds to play. Another big game moment from this big game quarterback. Barrett’s recruitment should also start to pick up. It began following his freshman season and is starting to gain some momentum again. He’s a fun prospect to watch.

‘s start to his high school career went about as good as you could have planned it. We knew that Barrett had a chance to be special after watching him perform at a very high level at several of our camps. But he exceeded all expectations during his freshman season. The biggest surprise was that he performed his best against the best competition and in the toughest circumstances. He ran away with Freshman Of The Year honors and D1 offers followed shortly after his freshman season. Now, he’s got a year of experience under his belt and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do during his sophomore season.

was ready for the moment when he took over this Washington dynasty as a freshman and led them to another state championship. From start to finish, Barrett was ready and never flinched. He continues to be a top five overall prospect in the state’s 2028 class and the unquestioned #1 at the quarterback position. Barrett ran away with our Freshman Of The Year award a year ago and we’re looking forward to seeing what he does for an encore. Washington has lost a few key pieces on offense so we’re looking forward to getting eyes on Barrett this fall to see how he responds. Following his freshman season, Barrett would earn multiple D1 offers. Similar to Nero, Barrett is a guy that just doesn’t look like he just finished his freshman year. Every time we’ve watched him in person, even going back to middle school, he’s always been one of the top players on the field.

dominate at several PRZ-Next camps, we believed that it was only a matter of time before Barrett earned the QB1 job for the Warriors and started impacting the varsity level. Barrett earned it from day one and he would also run away with PRZ-Oklahoma Freshman Of The Year honors. A big reason why (besides the production) was the fact that he seemed to always play his best against the toughest competition. The fact he was able to do that as a freshman really solidified him as one of the best quarterbacks in the state and that’s regardless of class. Barrett has also earned several D1 offers since the end of his freshman season and he’s just scratching the surface on what he’ll be moving forward. There is a lot to like with the Washington signal caller.
