Week zero is in the books and we saw some outstanding performances from across the state of Oklahoma and even from Oklahoma standouts in surrounding states. Every Sunday, we'll take a look at at on of fantastic individual performances. Following games each week, DM us @PrepRedzoneOK on X or email Michael@PrepRedzone.com to submit your picks. This week, we're featuring 35 different performances from players across the state. But also, we want to kick things off with a coach. Seminole head coach Mike Snyder captured his 400th career win on Friday night as the Chieftains beat Northwest Classen. Snyder is already the state's all-time winningest coach. Now, he's the first coach in state history to win 400 games.   [player_tooltip player_id='1619198' first='Anthony' last='Hytche'] - Junior Running Back - Muskogee   Junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1619198' first='Anthony' last='Hytche'] would not be denied as he helped guide the Roughers to a big win over Springdale on Friday night. Hytche turned into a workhorse back, finishing with 21 carries for just shy of 250 yards and a touchdown. The Roughers started the 2025 season stumbling out of the gate but that certainly isn't the case in 2026. Now, they shift their focus to a big week one clash at home against McAlester.   [player_tooltip player_id='1530096' first='Brayton' last='Carter'] - Senior Athlete - Stilwell   Stilwell opened the season with a big 48-7 win over Miami on Friday night. We have written about senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='1530096' first='Brayton' last='Carter'] a couple times this offseason and we think he'll be a big key to a turnaround season in 2026. On Friday night, he did a little bit of everything in the win. He had four catches for 72 yards and two touchdowns. He also added a 45-yard touchdown on the ground as an absolute playmaker on offense.   [player_tooltip player_id='474870' first='Brock' last='Heilmann'] - Senior Running Back - Coweta   Coweta made a loud statement by lighting up the scoreboard in a rivalry win over Wagoner Friday night. Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='474870' first='Brock' last='Heilmann'] could not be stopped and found the end zone six times on the night. He finished the game with 18 carries and accounted for over 200 yards and had six touchdowns on the ground. Heilmann and Coweta now shift their attention to a massive week one game as they go on the road to face Pryor on Friday.   [player_tooltip player_id='1717266' first='Brody' last='Smith'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Metro Christian   Metro Christian sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1717266' first='Brody' last='Smith'] made quite the debut on Friday night. The Patriots beat Poteau by 21 points and Smith, making his first start for Metro since moving over from Regent Prep, was absolutely flawless in the win. He threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns on 23-36 passing. He also added 20 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Smith looks like he'll have a sepcial sophomore season.   [player_tooltip player_id='1298836' first='Byron' last='Mason'] - Senior Running Back - Norman North   Norman North got some revenge after losing the season opener to rival Norman last year, they went to Norman High and beat the Tigers Friday night in the annual Crosstown Clash. Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1298836' first='Byron' last='Mason'] had a terrific start to his senior season. He finished with 12 carries for 73 yards and four touchdowns. He's an all purpose back that is a threat constantly and scoring one out of three carries is an example of that.   [player_tooltip player_id='1828094' first='Cash' last='Lening'] - Junior Running Back - Holdenville   Holdenville made a huge statement on Friday night when they went on the road and beat Vian 34-0. The Holdenville rushing attack could not be slowed down as they had three players finish with at least 90 yards on the ground. The best of the bunch was junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1828094' first='Cash' last='Lening'] as he finished the night with just six carries but had over 150 yards and a touchdown. The 34-0 win was one of the best wins of week zero.   [player_tooltip player_id='1735181' first='Chauncey' last='Cravens'] - Senior Quarterback - Edmond North   Edmond North kicked off the 2026 season with a rivalry win over Edmond Santa Fe. Leading the way was senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1735181' first='Chauncey' last='Cravens'] and he did his damage very quickly and with his arm and legs. He finished with 271 yards and three touchdowns on 21-27 passing. He also added nearly 50 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The Huskies took care of business and Cravens did not need to play all four quarters.   [player_tooltip player_id='1164507' first='CJ' last='Wright'] - Junior Running Back - Jenks   Junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1164507' first='CJ' last='Wright'] made his Jenks debut after spending his first two seasons at Lincoln Christian. He made quite the debut as the Trojans came up short against Texas powerhouse Southlake Carroll inside of the Cotton Bowl. Wright finished with 17 carries for over 200 yards and an electrifying 60+ yard touchdown run. Wright is primed for a monster junior season in this Jenks offense and week zero was just the start.   [player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] - Junior Quarterback - Washington   Washington went on the road and made quite the statement in week zero. They shut out Perkins-Tryon 34-0 and junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] looked flawless in the win. He kicked off his third season as a starter by throwing for 224 yards and two touchdowns on 19-24 passing. He also added just shy of 100 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Now, Barrett and the Warriors prepare for a monster week one game against Sulphur.   [player_tooltip player_id='1695230' first='Curtis' last='Henley IV'] - Senior Running Back - Mangum   Mangum head coach Sam Powers told us that senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1695230' first='Curtis' last='Henley IV'] was still under the radar but that might not be the case anymore. He opened the season with a strong performance as they beat Thomas 28-14. Henley finished with 23 carries for 134 yards and three touchdowns. He also had two catches for 54 yards in the win. It was a solid start to what could be a pretty big 2026 season for Henley and the Tigers.   [player_tooltip player_id='1199802' first='Dabin' last='Gaines'] - Junior Quarterback - Pocola   Pocola junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1199802' first='Dabin' last='Gaines'] is the first of several quarterbacks that are in new spots this season. Pocola rolled to a 40-15 win over Heavener on Thursday night and Gaines shined in the win. He threw for 230 yards and five touchdowns on 16-32 passing. He also added nearly 50 yards on the ground. Gaines is a quarterback that the Pocola coaches were excited about coming into this season and he's only going to get better from here.   [player_tooltip player_id='2243557' first='Dason' last='McBride'] - Junior Running Back - Cascia Hall   Cascia Hall ran away with a 30-14 win over rival Holland Hall on Friday night. Junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='2243557' first='Dason' last='McBride'] had a stellar performance in the win, finishing with 23 carries for nearly 200 yards and a touchdown. The Commandos are working in a new quarterback on the offensive side of the ball and McBride certainly gives Cascia Hall more confidence as an overall unit and he showed everyone why with his game Friday.   [player_tooltip player_id='693905' first='Delijah' last='Matthews'] - Senior Running Back - Carl Albert   Carl Albert extended their winning streak to 54 consecutive games with a solid win over Newcastle in a rematch of last year's 5A semifinal. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='693905' first='Delijah' last='Matthews'] kicked off his season with another terrific performance. He finished with over 100 yards and a touchdown on the ground but also added over 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. He had to work for every yard and earned them the hard way in a tough season opener.   [player_tooltip player_id='1834303' first='Drake' last='Sheffield'] - Sophomore Running Back - Lincoln Christian   Lincoln Christian went on the road and beat Jones 25-13 in a match-up featuring defending state champions. Sophomore running back [player_tooltip player_id='1834303' first='Drake' last='Sheffield'] had quite the performance in his debut in this Lincoln Christian offense. Sheffield ran for just over 170 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries. He was consistent from start to finish and those two touchdowns were in the second half, when they wore down the Jones defens.   [player_tooltip player_id='1837747' first='Easten' last='Powell'] - Junior Quarterback - Clinton   The Trevor Powers era at Clinton kicked off with a bang and junior quarterback was unstoppable as they beat Chandler Friday night. Powell had quite the debut for the Red Tornadoes, finishing the night with over 200 passing yards and three touchdowns. And he added an eye-opening 300+ yards and two touchdowns on the ground. In our opinion, this was absolutely the best individual performance of week zero.   [player_tooltip player_id='1556075' first='Garrett' last='McCurdy'] - Junior Athlete - Sapulpa   Sapulpa knocked off Fort Gibson 41-14 on Friday night and newcomer [player_tooltip player_id='1556075' first='Garrett' last='McCurdy'] made a swift and significant impact in the win. After moving in from Shawnee, McCurdy emerged as a two-way star. He had seven carries for 161 yards and two touchdowns. He also had two catches for 26 yards and scored on both, finishing with four touchdowns on the night. He also had seven tackles and a handful of pass breakups in the win.   [player_tooltip player_id='1830247' first='Grayson' last='Davis'] - Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Cashion   Cashion senior wide receiver and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1830247' first='Grayson' last='Davis'] had a stellar night on both sides of the ball as they beat Crescent in the annual rivalry game to kick off the season. Offensively, Davis finished the night with nine catches for 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Defensively, he also had six tackles, including two coming for a loss. Davis and the Wildcats now turn their attention to a week one clash against Kingfisher.   [player_tooltip player_id='1525562' first='Greydon' last='Howell'] - Senior Quarterback - Broken Bow   Broken Bow senior quarterback and OU commit [player_tooltip player_id='1525562' first='Greydon' last='Howell'] picked up right where he left off last season, as one of the best football players in the state. In a 45-21 win over McAlester, Howell finished with over 270 passing yards and a touchdown and then also accounted for nearly 250 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Every time McAlester made it close, Howell would break off another long run and crush any hopes of a comeback.   [player_tooltip player_id='976705' first='Isaiah' last='Butcher IV'] - Junior Quarterback - Bixby   Bixby went on the road and took down Owasso Friday night and played three quarterbacks in the win. Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='976705' first='Isaiah' last='Butcher IV'] arguably had the best performance and showed that his running ability can be a game changer for this offense. Butcher threw for 65 yards and a touchdown on 7-8 passing. But he also had 22 carries for 174 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Butcher certainly looked the part in the week zero win.   [player_tooltip player_id='2109803' first='Issac' last='Torres'] - Junior Running Back - Pryor   Pryor had a balanced and dominant win over Siloam Springs in northwest Arkansas Friday night. Junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1704643' first='Issac' last='Torres'] was a highlight machine and he did it very efficiently. Torres, a newcomer from Locust Grove, only touched the ball eight times and he finished with over 200 yards and three touchdowns. He had six carries for 125 yards and three touchdowns and two catches for 82 yards. Now, they host Coweta in a big week one game.   [player_tooltip player_id='1834732' first='Jayce' last='Kent'] - Sophomore Running Back - Inola   Inola sophomore running back [player_tooltip player_id='1834732' first='Jayce' last='Kent'] picked up right where he left off last season. Last year, he was one of the best freshmen in the state and he was unstoppable once again as the Longhorns beat Claremore Sequoyah 42-14 on Friday night. Kent finished with 27 carries for over 250 yards and four touchdowns. This season feels like one where Kent is going to be one of the bigger workhorse backs in the state and Friday was an example of that.   [player_tooltip player_id='1164601' first='Jett' last='Frankum'] - Junior Running Back - Plainview   We wrote about Plainview junior [player_tooltip player_id='1164601' first='Jett' last='Frankum'] a couple times this offseason. All signs point to him having a monster 2026 season and he kicked things off with a workhorse performance in the win over Lone Grove. Frankum finished the night with 33 carries and he went for 300 yards and two touchdowns. On a hot Friday night where cramping became an issue all over Oklahoma, Frankum showed that he could be that workhorse running back.   [player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] - Senior Quarterback/Defensive Back - Talihina   Talihina senior quarterback and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] picked up right where he left off last season, filling up the stat sheet and leading the Golden Tigers to another win. Griffith finished with nearly 300 passing yards and a touchdown on 20-33 passing. He also added just shy of 100 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries. Defensively, Griffith also had four tackles and an interception as defending champion Talihina started 1-0.   [player_tooltip player_id='1837023' first='Maddox' last='Gregg'] - Senior Defensive Lineman - Mustang   We have no idea what the final numbers were for Mustang senior defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1837023' first='Maddox' last='Gregg'] as the Broncos beat Choctaw 27-7. But on a field that had D1 prospects all over the place on both sides, Gregg was right there as arguably the best player in the game. Gregg provided constant pressure on the line of scrimmage and he seemed like he was always in the backfield and always around the football. He racked up plenty of tackles in the win.   [player_tooltip player_id='1743060' first='Malachi' last='Darby'] - Junior Athlete - Bishop McGuinness   Bishop McGuinness had a dominant but balanced victory as they ran away with an easy week zero win. Junior athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1743060' first='Malachi' last='Darby'] stood out on the defensive side of the ball as the Irish offense had a balanced attack. Darby finished with nine tackles, including three tackles for loss and two sacks in their week zero win. Now, the Irish prepare for rivalry week, where they will face Bishop Kelley in week one.   [player_tooltip player_id='1164646' first='Mason' last='Mayhew'] - Junior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Deer Creek   Deer Creek made quite the statement on Friday night, when they came over to the Tulsa area and took down defending 6A-2 champion Sand Springs. Junior wide receiver and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1164646' first='Mason' last='Mayhew'] was an absolute workhorse in the win over the Sandites. Offensively, he had four catches for 67 yards and a touchdown. He also had a rushing touchdown and five tackles and an interception on defense, playing over 100 plays on the night.   [player_tooltip player_id='1832582' first='Noah' last='Torrez'] - Senior Athlete - Marlow   New Marlow standout [player_tooltip player_id='1832582' first='Noah' last='Torrez'] kicked off his Outlaw career with a dominant performance in a 60-12 win over Millwood Friday night. Torrez joined the Outlaws this summer after helping lead Ryan to the Class C state championship last year. Torrez picked up right where he left off last season, finishing with nearly 150 yards and three touchdowns on the ground on just ten carries. Torrez is a big reason why Marlow is a serious state title threat.   [player_tooltip player_id='1830892' first='Parker' last='Madison'] - Senior Quarterback - Tuttle   Tuttle senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1830892' first='Parker' last='Madison'] had quite the debut on Friday night as he replaces Cruz Campbell as Tuttle's new QB1 this season. In a win over Guthrie, Madison finished the night with 265 yards and three touchdowns on 15-17 passing. It doesn't look like Tuttle is going to miss a step offensively because the passing game is as efficient as ever. Now, Tuttle prepares for rival Newcastle and a Thursday night clash in week one.   [player_tooltip player_id='700412' first='Peyton' last='Campbell'] - Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Stillwater   Stillwater made quite the statement with a 23-3 win over Fayetteville on Friday night. Senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='700412' first='Peyton' last='Campbell'] is another 2027 prospect that we wrote about last week and we mentioned how he could emerge as a two-way star for them this fall. On Friday night, he led the Pioneers with six catches for 109 yards and a touchdown. He's also still a standout on defense and he finished the night with five tackles.   [player_tooltip player_id='2198337' first='Price' last='Lusk'] - Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Bartlesville   Bartlesville senior wide receiver and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='2198337' first='Price' last='Lusk'] had quite the debut with the Bruins on Friday as they rolled to a 45-14 win over Skiatook. Lusk joined Bartlesville after starting his career at Broken Arrow. Lusk finished with eight catches for over 200 yards and three touchdowns. He also had two interceptions on defense. We saw Lusk in person this spring and it was clear then that he was primed for a breakout season this fall.   [player_tooltip player_id='2134915' first='Talon' last='Wilkerson'] - Junior Quarterback - Edmond Memorial   Edmond Memorial took care of business in the win over Piedmont in week zero. They had several players standing out on both sides of the ball but we're giving the nod to junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='2134915' first='Talon' last='Wilkerson'] after the efficient night that he had. He threw for over 200 yards and three touchdowns on 17-28 passing. He also added over 50 yards on four carries in the win. All signs are pointing to Wilkerson having a breakout junior year.   [player_tooltip player_id='1836654' first='Tucker' last='New-Henson'] - Senior Tight End/Defensive End - Elgin   Elgin shut out Bethany on Friday night to kick off their season in style. Senior tight end and defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='1836654' first='Tucker' last='New-Henson'] had a terrific performance on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he had a pair of catches for 80 yards. Defensively, He was a nightmare for Bethany to deal with off the edge. He had six tackles, including two sacks and he also recovered a fumble and rumbled 50 yards for a defensive touchdown in the win.   [player_tooltip player_id='1833203' first='Tyce' last='Miller'] - Junior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Hominy   Hominy opened the season with another dominant rivalry win over Cleveland Thursday night. The Bucks forced eight turnovers on the night and junior [player_tooltip player_id='1833203' first='Tyce' last='Miller'] accounted for half of them. Miller had four interceptions and that's going to be a number that's hard to beat for a single game performance this season. He also had four tackles and a pair of catches on the offensive side of the ball. Hominy continues their dominance in this rivalry.   [player_tooltip player_id='1828411' first='Wesley' last='Woody'] - Junior Running Back/Defensive Back - Bishop Kelley   Bishop Kelley went on the road and absolutely dominated Southmoore on Friday night. Junior running back and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1828411' first='Wesley' last='Woody'] had a great two-way performance in the win. He finished with 15 carries for 140 yards and three touchdowns. He also had six tackles, including two tackles for loss in the win. Woody is a terrific two-way player that looks like he'll have a big junior season ahead and is definitely a name to know. .   [player_tooltip player_id='1717719' first='Zealand' last='Danielson'] - Junior Quarterback - Yukon   Yukon junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1717719' first='Zealand' last='Danielson'] made quite the debut on Friday night as the Millers won their season opener. Danielson moved into Oklahoma and immediately got our attention with the offers that have rolled in already. In their win, Danielson threw for over 150 yards on just 7-12 passing. He accounted for four touchdowns in the win but he only played 26 snaps in the win. He got the job done and now they face Mustang.
