The 2023 high school football season here in Tennessee will be concluded at the end of this week, so it's time to update our senior rankings and after long nights in the film room and a process with many changes, the #TN2024 Top 300 is here!

This could possibly be the deepest crop of talent ever here in the Volunteer State but that will play out in time as most everybody inside the Top 300 will be playing college ball in the very near future.

Tennessee Top 300

The #PRZTN Top 10 didn't see too many changes as Bradley Central athlete [player_tooltip player_id='150277' first='Boo' last='Carter'] remains as the top overall player but the number two spot is different with Baylor wideout [player_tooltip player_id='148873' first='Amari' last='Jefferson'] moving ahead of Lipscomb linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='150276' first='Edwin' last='Spillman'] (Ranked 3rd). Both Jefferson and Spillman had stellar season's but the Red Raiders pass catcher had a phenomenal year and he is still playing this Thursday evening for the D2-Class AAA state title.

CPA defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='149166' first='Ondre' last='Evans'] and Baylor tight end [player_tooltip player_id='305883' first='Max' last='LeBlanc'] remain at 4th and 5th overall with Lipscomb Academy and future Tennessee Volunteer [player_tooltip player_id='149389' first='Kaleb' last='Beasley'] also staying in place as the 6th ranked prospect.

The next big change comes with Germantown defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='258818' first='Daniel' last='Anderson'] taking a good jump in our rankings to 7th overall after a big senior year where he took his game and talents to another level. Closing out the top ten are three trench monsters headed to Power Five conferences. Page O-lineman [player_tooltip player_id='149171' first='Ronan' last='O'Connell'] (Clemson) comes in at 8th overall, McCallie defensive end and Tennessee commit [player_tooltip player_id='149842' first='Carson' last='Gentle'] places 9th with future Ole Miss Rebel and current CPA O-lineman [player_tooltip player_id='149856' first='John' last='Wayne Oliver'] ranking 10th.

That's a strong top ten with almost all the players listed above sporting the abilities to step onto campus next spring or fall and immediately compete for playing time while also having the upside to turn into All-Conference standouts.

Offensive Rundown

- Skill positions here in Tennessee continues to get better and better every year with the #TN2024 crop being the deepest yet. Here inside our new senior rankings, offensive talent showed a spike in their recruiting stocks as several players took advantage of their last year of high school ball and developed nicely, including FRA offensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='488808' first='Luke' last='Masterson'], who moved up to the 11th overall.

There is a new #1 quarterback in the state with Baylor senior [player_tooltip player_id='323145' first='Whit' last='Muschamp'] taking that spot at 14th overall. His play has been over the top this year with a Mr. Football caliber season that forced his move to the top of the quarterback board. Collierville gunslinger [player_tooltip player_id='258673' first='Aidan' last='Glover'] did take a step back in the rankings at 27th overall but he is still a top tier recruit that you will see spinning the ball next Fall at Missouri.

The offensive talent who took a strong leap in the rankings to 19th overall is Knox. Webb receiver [player_tooltip player_id='219041' first='Markeis' last='Barrett']. The future Vanderbilt Commodore was a beast on the gridiron this season, producing big numbers at both receiver and defensive back with his future in Nashville being on the offensive side of the ball. Alcoa senior [player_tooltip player_id='674370' first='Brandon' last='Winton, Jr'] is another wideout who put forth a big senior year, boosting his ranking to 21st and the 3rd ranked wideout in the #TN2024 class.

Receiver's are the theme within the top half of our senior rankings. Father Ryan pass catcher [player_tooltip player_id='149399' first='Charlie' last='Becker'] is a sure handed wideout with large college potential who comes in ranked 25th and someone I could see turning into a bonafide starter early in his college career. Coming in 34th overall, Riverdale senior [player_tooltip player_id='149160' first='Brock' last='Montgomery'] put up a monster season in his lone year with the Warriors, proving his worth on the 6A level and taking his recruiting stock to another level. Montgomery is committed to UConn but pay attention to bigger schools to take a late look at this Mid-Tennessee talent.

Coming in at 43rd and 46th overall, Pearl Cohn wideout [player_tooltip player_id='193750' first='D'Arious' last='Reed'] and [player_tooltip player_id='337300' first='Dillon' last='Lorick'] are two game changing receivers with big time speed that can take their games to another level once they reach the collegiate gridiron. Lorick is currently committed to East Carolina while Reed is still looking for a college home.

The deepest position group on offense is our offensive line with five players being placed among the top 29 players in the state. O'Connell, Oliver and Masterson lead the way but right behind them sit several other high quality linemen. Collierville and future Duke Blue Devil [player_tooltip player_id='462638' first='Robert' last='Bourdon'] places next at 16th overall. Coming up behind him ranked 22nd is future Tennessee Volunteer [player_tooltip player_id='277659' first='Jesse' last='Perry']. Another future SEC participant is next in Lausanne big man [player_tooltip player_id='149188' first='Luke' last='Work'], who comes in ranked 29th. These three big men have the look and skill set to become starters early in their college careers.

Defensive Rundown

- This state is full of top level defenders that I foresee becoming starters and possible All-Conference, All-American caliber players in the college game with continued development. Kicking off the defensive rankings, coming in at 12th overall is MUS defensive back and future Stanford Cardinal [player_tooltip player_id='258805' first='Brandon' last='Nicholson']. The 6 '0 defender has the skill set and upside to become a lockdown cover corner on the next level and someone that can take his game further into the pro game.

Nicholson isn't the only defensive back placed inside the Top 20 as this position group may be the deepest on the defensive side of the ball. Coming in right behind the MUS senior is Bradley Central safety [player_tooltip player_id='270395' first='Marcus' last='Goree, Jr']. The Bears secondary standout has all the makings of a big time safety on the college level with the upside to become All-conference during his time at Tennessee. McCallie senior [player_tooltip player_id='332310' first='Marcellus' last='Barnes, Jr'] comes in next at 17th and this is a guy who is on the fence with his recruiting currently as he recently decommitted from Virginia Tech.

Taking a big jump into the Top 20 is CPA linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='228694' first='Crews' last='Law']. The Lions senior tackler had a strong senior season that forced us to move him up in our rankings to 15th overall and a linebacker that could see his best days ahead of him during his time with North Carolina. Brentwood Academy D-lineman [player_tooltip player_id='149168' first='Hank' last='Weber'] took a small step back in our rankings at 18th overall but is a definite power five guy who could develop on either side of the line during his time with Wisconsin.

Closing out the Top 20, Red Bank edge linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='237054' first='Kobe' last='Smith'] comes in at 20th overall and I'm a big fan of this guy as he is the fastest off the edge that we have in the state and someone that could explode as a big time player during his time at Duke.

The prospect who took the biggest jump in our rankings could be considered for either side of the ball but I like him best at defensive back. Riverdale senior [player_tooltip player_id='286599' first='Keshawn' last='Williams'], who is currently committed to Michigan St. had a breakthrough senior year that landed him in the Big 10 as well as ranking 24th overall in our latest update. Another big riser to 28th overall is Southwind D-lineman [player_tooltip player_id='149317' first='Kavion' last='Benton']. The Jaguars senior D-lineman (ranked 28th overall) had a very productive senior year while being a marked man many O-line's keyed on but still produced while leading his team to a 12-1 overall record.

Benton isn't the only prospect to mention from the D-line trenches. Ranking 30th overall, Davidson Academy senior D-Tackle [player_tooltip player_id='345970' first='Glenn' last='Seabrooks'] places next and he is taking his talents to the SEC and Vanderbilt University. The 31st and 32nd overall players also reside on the line with Knox. West senior [player_tooltip player_id='301377' first='C.J.' last='Smith'] and Germantown edge defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='258668' first='D.J.' last='Allen'] coming up behind Seabrooks. All three of these guys are some of the best D-linemen we have in the state with Smith and Allen still looking for a college home.
