About Charlie
Expert Analysis
Shayne Pickering | Prep Redzone Scout
Charlie Becker is a big prototypical X-receiver with a strong 6-foot-3 frame that will contribute in some way at the college level due to his excellent high-point ability and ball skills when targeted.
He is a natural mover that has the size to box out receivers and the ball skills to snag any target from his quarterbacks, making it nearly impossible to cover him on jump balls downfield.
He is a smooth mover that can work in space from any receiver alignment. He could be more explosive and sudden, but his physicality allows for him to disengage from defensive backs in press coverage in an efficient manner.
His physicality shows up in all facets, including as a competitive blocker and special teams contributor.
While being the star for his team at the high school level, he also played special teams and made high-impact contributions in that aspect of the game.
He comes from an athletic family and showcases his athletic abilities outside of football on the track, winning the state championship in 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles and as part of the 4×400 relay during his junior season.
Dad spent time in the minor leagues as a catcher before playing football at Ohio State. Brother went Division One for football.

Becker has been a known name in this state for most of the 2023 recruiting process and he has done nothing but continue to improve every step of the way as you can see in his early senior clips that the Mid-TN talent has taken his game to another level, showing he is ready for Big Ten football. Currently committed to Indiana, Becker is a big, physical target that has increased his speed this year while also packing on more muscle, making him look like a bonafide Power Five player. He is a red zone mismatch problem as Becker knows how to use his body to get open then use his glue like hands to haul in the pass. What I like most about the Fighting Irish senior is his consistency. Becker does all the little things right while constantly showing up each and every week, ready to produce. The Hoosiers grabbed a good player here in Becker that should continue to get better each year during his time in the Big Ten.Senior Clips

Smooth mover whose build-up speed is sufficient to force defenses to account for him downfield. Has relatively detailed footwork and the quickness to create windows for quick throws when releasing. Uses his hands well to prevent defenders from jabbing successfully; also uses a nice swim move to slip past defenders sitting in zones. Locates and settles into soft spots when working against zone coverage.

Be on the lookout for this Nashville area receiver as Becker is picking up major steam on the recruiting trail and that could boost his current #PRZTN ranking into the Top 50 overall and possibly higher. Overall these offseason months, Becker has been putting in some serious work developing his craft, adding in more speed while crisping up his routes. This Fighting Irish offensive talent has great size (well built with a wide frame) along with strong hands and the ability to run the route tree. Several Power Five programs have been showing interest in Becker over the past few months and with college coaches on the road right now, expect to see this Mid-Tennessee product add some big offers over the coming weeks.
