Central senior standout Ayden Guess Ayden Guess 6’4″ | 220 lbs | DL Central | 2024 State OK makes it back on this weekly feature after a monster performance in a road win against Jay on Friday night. In the win, Guess was about as unstoppable as it gets on offense with seven catches for over 150 yards and four touchdowns. He was also a tackling machine on the defensive side of the ball. But this performance came at a big moment as the Braves were battling for their playoff lives. Friday’s win on the road keeps those hopes alive and now all the attention turns to a week ten showdown with Bristow. Win, and you’re into the playoffs for just the second time in the last decade. Guess is one of the more underrated prospects in the state’s 2024 class. He can get even more attention by helping punch their ticket to the playoffs.
It wasn’t always pretty, but North Rock Creek will never forget their 12-10 win over Kingfisher on Friday night at home. With the win, North Rock Creek has qualified for the playoffs for the first time in school history. And junior standout Caleb Hawkins Caleb Hawkins 6’2″ | 205 lbs | ATH North Rock Creek | 2025 State OK has been a big reason why they are playoff bound this season. He has had a huge season and has made appearing on this weekly breakdown a regular occurence. We wrote about Hawkins last week during all of our 2025 prospect updates as he continues to climb up the rankings. In the win over Kingfisher, Hawkins was an absolute workhorse on the ground. He finished with nearly 175 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. Hawkins continues to show why he’s one of the best overall athletes in the state’s 2025 class.
Highlights
It was a big day for Choctaw junior standout Cash Williams Cash Williams 6’1″ | 205 lbs | ATH Choctaw | 2025 State OK on Friday. First, Williams would announce his commitment to play college baseball at Tennessee on Friday morning. Then, Williams and the Yellowjackets would beat up on Putnam City with a 65-20 victory. Williams had arguably the best night of his career as a passer and was not too shabby as a runner. But Williams would throw for over 400 yards and six touchdowns on 23-27 passing. He also added over 100 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Williams has been one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks in the state this season but the majority of his damage has been on the ground. Friday night was a good example of what Williams can do in the passing game. He’ll look to keep that going in week ten.
On Thursday night, we got a reminder of why Stillwater senior running back Holden Thompson Holden Thompson 5’10” | 180 lbs | RB Stillwater | 2024 State OK is one of the best backs in the state. In a blowout win over Tahlequah at home, Thompson ran for a season-high 343 yards and three touchdowns. It was a workhorse night for Thompson as he finished the game with 32 carries. In the previous week against PC West, Thompson finished with 97 yards on the ground and it was the first time this year that he didn’t run for at least 100 yards. He came back with a vengeance on Thursday night at the expense of the Tahlequah defense. Now, all eyes are on Thompson and the Pioneers as they welcome in top-ranked Muskogee to finish off the regular season. Stillwater holds the 6A-2 crown right now, Muskogee wants it. Friday can’t get here quick enough.
Union went on the road to Edmond for the second consecutive week and for the second consecutive week they found themselves in a fight. The Redhawks would run away with a 37-21 win over Edmond Memorial and senior Issac Covington Issac Covington 5’11” | 190 lbs | ATH Union | 2024 State OK put on the Superman cape in the win. Covington, who is one of Union’s best defenders, would make his biggest impact on offense as Union needed a running back while they dealt with injuries to the position. Covington responded by going for well over 200 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries. And one of those four touchdown runs quite possibly was the best run we’ve seen from any player in Oklahoma this season. Covington and the Redhawks officially locked up the district championship with the win on Friday night.
Class A had a few notable games in week nine but none were bigger than top-ranked Hominy hosting #4 Woodland in a battle of unbeaten teams with the district championship on the line. The Bucks would lock up the district title and remain unbeaten with a 23-20 win over the visiting Cougars and senior standout Jaxon Woods Jaxon Woods 6’0″ | ATH Hominy | 2024 State OK shined incredibly bright on senior night. Woods started impacting the game on the ground with well over 100 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. He also would finish 10-22 for 149 yards and a touchdown. That touchdown came on a 40-yard pass with 49 seconds left to give the Bucks the lead and ultimately the victory. Woods would finish the game 10-16 passing and no completion was bigger than that last one that helped win the district title.
It might have been the game of the year in Class 6A-1 and this might have been the performance of the year in the class. #3 Owasso would stun #4 Edmond Santa Fe in the final seconds to win 57-53. And senior quarterback Knox Dyson Knox Dyson 6’3″ | 185 lbs | QB Owasso | 2024 State OK had a night to remember as he helped lead the Rams to a massive win and put his name at the top of the school record book for yards and touchdowns in a game. Dyson finished the night with 514 yards and seven touchdowns on 20-28 passing. It would be a mistake to not mention Dyson’s two top targets Deuce Chalk Deuce Chalk 6’2″ | 175 lbs | WR Owasso | 2024 State OK and at the wide receiver position. Both had fantastic nights and Chalk would be on the receiving end of what would be the game-winning touchdown. When we look at Dyson now compared to week zero, it’s night and day difference.

Norman North continues to be one of the more intriguing teams in Class 6A-1 and a squad capable of going on a run in November. The Timberwolves got a massive win over Westmoore on Friday night and while the story of the game is the Norman North defense doing an excellent job of containing Westmoore’s star quarterback, another storyline was the play of sophomore standout Mason James Mason James 5’11” | 155 lbs | WR Norman North | 2026 State OK on the offensive side of the ball. James finished with five catches for nearly 100 yards and two touchdowns. He also added a rushing touchdown as he continues to show why he’s one of the more versatile offensive weapons in the state. James is a 2026 prospect that you need to know about now. He’s enjoyed a big season this fall and is hungry for more with the playoffs around the corner.

After week eight, a lot of the talk in Class 5A centered around the Carl Albert-Guthrie instant classic and whether or not those two would have a rematch for the state title. Elgin made a statement on Friday night that overlooking the Owls would be unwise. They absolutely smashed Lawton MacArthur in a very loud statement win in week nine. Senior running back Matt Lund Matt Lund 6’0″ | RB Elgin | 2024 State OK continued to pad his stats and extend the school’s all time rushing yardage mark. He finished with 15 carries for just over 150 yards and two touchdowns. He also added a receiving touchdown to his total and continues to be a threat out of the backfield in the passing game this season. Now, Elgin focuses on a week ten road test against Midwest City in a rematch of last year’s heartbreaking loss to the Bombers.
Perkins-Tryon wrapped up the district championship on Friday night by beating McLoud 40-13. It was a complete performance from the Demons on the offensive side of the ball but we had to put the spotlight once again on senior Tre Stevenson Tre Stevenson 6’0″ | ATH Perkins-Tryon | 2024 State OK at the running back position. Earlier on Friday, we added Stevenson to our PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year Watchlist and he immediately backed up the hype. In the win over McLoud, Stevenson ran for well over 100 yards and three touchdowns. He continues to be a touchdown machine as the Demons have rolled through district play. This has been a top five team in Class 3A all season and Stevenson is picking up momentum at the best time with the playoffs right around the corner. Stevenson continues to be one of the best backs in the class.

Fisher Lai Fisher Lai 5'10" | WR Cascia Hall | 2027 OK – 2027 Wide Receiver – Cascia Hall
We mentioned before the season that Cascia Hall’s offense could look a little different in 2023. It’s week nine and we’re still not used to seeing the Commandos slinging the ball all over the field.
