quite a bit over the last few years and we’ve been going back and forth with what position we like him at more. Wide receiver on offense or cornerback on defense. And quite honestly, if you go back and look at what we’ve written about Lai, it’s been a combination of both and it always seems to go back to the defensive side of the ball. Lai is a very talented cornerback and he is so incredibly underrated for what he can do on the defensive side of the ball. He’s been incredibly productive on the offensive side of the ball so we won’t write him off at receiver but right now, we’re starting to lean more to defense because he has earned it with his play.

is one of our favorite players to watch in person because of the tremendous impact he has in all three phases of the game. Offensively, Lai is going to be one of the top wide receivers and he’s been an absolute dude since his freshman season. Last year, he had over 800 yards and 13 touchdowns. Defensively, he is a lockdown cornerback and had four interceptions on that side of the ball. And not to mention, he’s also a threat in the return game on special teams. Similar to Mullen, we think that Lai is going to completely rewrite all the receiving records at Cascia Hall when it’s all said and done. He’ll be one of the best overall players in Class 3A this fall.

has been a 2027 prospect that we’ve liked since his freshman season. But this is the first time that Lai is being rated as an overall athlete because of his abilities on both sides of the ball. Lai has been one of the top targets in the Cascia Hall passing game over the last two seasons. But Lai is also a really strong cornerback and we’ve watched him in countless 7v7 tournaments where he is making play after play. And Lai those plays carry a little more weight because Lai isn’t a defensive back that has his hands all over the wide receiver, getting away with holding or pass interference and then makes a play on the ball. Lai does it within the rules and does it at a consistent level. The Cascia Hall standout has moved up over 20 spots and is knocking on the door of being a Top 20 overall prospect. He has a very high ceiling on both sides of the ball.

was one of the breakout stars in the state last fall. There is no doubt that Lai was one of the best freshmen in Oklahoma when you look at the impact he was able to have. He would be right there with Nathman in terms of receiving. He finished the year with 47 catches for just under 900 yards and ten touchdowns. He also impacted the game on the defensive side of the ball from the cornerback position. Lai is a terrific young prospect and when he gets the ball in the open field, he’s absolutely electric. He had a really good offseason and is looking to carry that momentum into this season.

had an outstanding freshman season as the Commandos moved to a pass-first offense and multiple school records were set. Lai was a borderline 1,000-yard receiver last season and we think he definitely could eclipse that this season. Lai is the first of several guys on this breakdown that probably should have already been ranked in the first place. Lai also had a strong offseason on the 7v7 circuit and he was primarily working on the defensive side of the ball at corner. We have him listed as a wide receiver right now but the truth is he could probably be considered on either side of the ball.

We were told prior to the 2023 season that Cascia Hall would be moving from a run-first offense to pass-first and we could see the Commandos passing it 30+ times a game. That ended up happening and we saw freshman

enjoy a breakout season. He was one of the more productive wide receivers in the state’s freshman class in 2023 and he certainly has genetics on his size. Lai’s older brother Cooper was a star quarterback and safety for Cascia Hall just a few years ago. Fisher can absolutely fly with the ball in his hands but one thing that really stands out to us about his game is his route running. He simply knows how to get open. And as Cascia Hall continues to get more comfortable in their new pass-first offense, we could end up seeing this Cascia freshman shatter some school records.
