finds himself as a finalist for PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year. Woods was dominant last season and he elevated his game as a senior. Woods threw for over 2,700 yards and 31 touchdowns. He also ran for over 1,200 yards and 24 touchdowns. He then turned around and finished with 82 tackles and three interceptions on defense. He took all three interceptions back for scores. Woods was also Hominy’s primary threat as a punt returner and he scored on three punt returns this season. Woods was hands down one of the best players in the state, regardless of class. Last season, Woods was one of the state’s best and nothing has changed over the last 12 months. We got a chance to see the Hominy standout in person earlier this season, in their toughest game of the year against Woodland. He showcased his clutch gene and we were even more convinced that he was among the best in the state.Access all of Prep Redzone

has been one of the best players in the state over the last few seasons. In week nine, he backed up the hype and it was our first chance to actually see him in person. He helped lead his team to a district championship in a 23-20 win over Woodland. In the win, Woods finished with over 100 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He also had nearly 150 passing yards and a touchdown. The passing touchdown came with less than a minute to play to give the Bucks the win.Access all of Prep Redzone

in person last week but it just solidified what we already knew. The Class A standout is one of the best overall football players in Oklahoma. And this continues what we were saying about Noles. Woods shines bright on film but then you see him in person and you see that he’s not a thin player dominating lower competition. He might be considered undersized in the height department but he’s built well and there’s no denying the athleticism and production he has shown in his career at Hominy. Woods is outstanding at the quarterback position and can torch defenses with his arm and his legs. Then he turns around and is one of the hardest hitters on defense.

Class A had a few notable games in week nine but none were bigger than top-ranked Hominy hosting #4 Woodland in a battle of unbeaten teams with the district championship on the line. The Bucks would lock up the district title and remain unbeaten with a 23-20 win over the visiting Cougars and senior standout

shined incredibly bright on senior night. Woods started impacting the game on the ground with well over 100 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. He also would finish 10-22 for 149 yards and a touchdown. That touchdown came on a 40-yard pass with 49 seconds left to give the Bucks the lead and ultimately the victory. Woods would finish the game 10-16 passing and no completion was bigger than that last one that helped win the district title.

shining bright, as he has for the last several seasons. Woods finished 10-22 for 149 yards and the game-winning touchdown. He also added over 116 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. He also had countless tackles on defense as he was the safety valve if the Cougars ever made it by the front seven of the Bucks. Woods struggled in the passing game to start. He began 0-6 but then went 10-16 to close out the game. Woods has been one of the best players in the state for well over a year now. He will look to lead the Bucks to their first state title since Zaven Collins led them in 2016.

We have two massive games involving unbeaten teams in Class A this week and one we’ll be at features top-ranked Hominy hosting #4 Woodland in a massive showdown. in person. There’s no other way to put it. Woods has been special over the last several seasons for the Bucks and he’s back at it again this year. He has several games already where he has been able to beat up defenses with his arm and his legs. He’s also a threat on the defensive side of the ball and as if that wasn’t enough, Woods also returns kicks. We’re looking forward to getting out to Osage County for this battle of unbeatens. Woodland will certainly provide the toughest opponent for Woods and the Bucks this season. It should be an entertaining game from the start and feel more like a semifinal or state title game than a week nine contest.

We’re cheating here. And we’ll openly admit to cheating and we’re happy with this decision. #1 Hominy and #2 Fairview have been absolutely dominant so far this season. Both of these teams are led by quarterbacks that have put up some monster numbers. We’re not picking one over the other so Fairview’s

will share the award. Eventually, these teams could run into one another and they’ll have the chance to settle it on the field. But picking between these two dynamic players is tough. Bernard has Fairview perfect once again and he’s thrown for nearly 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns while he’s also added over 400 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. For Woods, he’s also been outstanding so far this season and is once again one of the truly dynamic athletes in the state of Oklahoma. In the last few weeks, Woods has once again put up those video game numbers that we’re used to seeing from him. He’s thrown for over 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns and also run for over 400 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. He’s also racked up the stats on defense and is one of the more complete players in Oklahoma

showed why he’s one of the best players in the state. Woods was one of the finalists for our PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year award last year and he’s had a somewhat quiet season so far as the Bucks have been dominant and he hasn’t had to put on that Superman cape. Woods got pretty close in the win over Pawnee. He threw for 375 yards and six touchdowns on 10-11 passing. He also added 18 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Just like Bernard, Hominy is a top contender with Woods at QB.
