Hominy just had a pretty special senior class that came through and graduated. This year’s team will be full of underclassmen ready to step into the spotlight. But one of the senior leaders on this year’s team will be Josh Toon Josh Toon OL/DL Hominy | 2027 OK on the offensive and defensive line. Toon will help set the tone for the Bucks on both sides of the line of scrimmage. They need some new names to step up and Hominy’s coaches are confident that Toon is going to be a guy for them this season. There is certainly some potential there. He played alongside some very talented guys over the last few seasons and if he and the rest of the Hominy OL can come together, this offense will be solid again. 

Owasso running back Malakhy Harris Malakhy Harris 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Hominy | 2028 State OK is one of the more intriguing 2028 prospects to watch coming into the season this fall. Harris had a season-ending injury last year that derailed what was shaping up to be a really strong sophomore season. He’s also moved from Hominy to Owasso, going from the smallest 11-man class to the biggest in the state. So not only is Harris looking for strong comeback season this fall but when he hits the field, the competition level is going to go up in a major way. But if Harris is healthy, he has the potential to be an instant impact player for the Rams. He’s a versatile offensive weapon that is equally impactful in the run game and when he splits out at wide receiver.

Owasso has a new running back with Malakhy Harris Malakhy Harris 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Hominy | 2028 State OK moving over from Hominy this offseason. There’s a few things we’re looking forward to seeing with Harris this fall. First off, we just want to see him back on the field and healthy. His sophomore season was cut short near the halfway mark with a season-ending injury. But secondly, Harris is going from competing in the smallest 11-man class with Hominy to the largest 11-man class with the Rams. Seeing what he does against that kind of competition week in and week out will be something to watch in 2026. But Harris is one of the more productive athletes in the 2028 class. He’s a dynamic weapon on offense, equally as impactful as a runner as he is a pass catcher out of the backfield or split out at wide receiver.

Hominy running back Malakhy Harris Malakhy Harris 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Hominy | 2028 State OK is listed here as a running back but he’s more like an offensive utility weapon. He is just as impactful at wide receiver as he is at the running back position. He also has been productive on the defensive side of the ball but we can’t ignore all of the productive games he’s had on offense. So when we started working on this ranking update, we knew that not only Harris would be a no doubt newcomer but he would debut in a high spot. So that’s the good news with the Hominy standout but the bad news is his sophomore season has come to an end. Harris suffered an injury a few weeks ago and will miss the rest of the 2025 season. He was off to a fantastic start as the ultimate weapon for the Bucks to use on the offensive side of the ball. Despite the bad news, Harris is going to be a player to remember moving forward, especially with Hominy having a big senior class, having Harris back in 2026 will be big.

Sophomore all purpose standout Malakhy Harris Malakhy Harris 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Hominy | 2028 State OK is another player that enjoyed a breakout season last fall. Harris did it as a freshman and so it’s easy to say he was under the radar because he hadn’t played varsity ball yet. But all Harris did was total over 800 all purpose yards as a freshman to get everyone’s attention. Harris will line up at running back, wide receiver and he’ll play safety on the defensive side of the ball. No matter where Harris is lined up, he’s a threat to make something happen on offense. Last season, he was just scratching the surface on what he can be.
