He ran for nearly 250 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries in a 28-6 win over the Tigers. This ended up being a sign of what was to come. was one of them. And if you’ve seen the Pioneers this season, you can’t help but notice Thompson as the biggest playmaker on this Stillwater team. Thompson has run for nearly 2,000 yards and 22 touchdowns on the season. The thing that impresses us the most is Thompson can be an absolute work horse if he needs to be. He has three games this year with at least 30 carries, including 34 carries last week in the semifinals.

is one of the best stories of the 2023 season. After missing all of last season with a leg injury, Thompson has made up for lost time and wanted to provide an impact to a state championship team. He’s knocking on the door of 2,000 yards on the ground and has been a workhorse when he’s needed to be. He’s no stranger to carrying the ball over 30 times in a game, including in their semifinal win over Choctaw. Thompson had a fantastic performance in the week ten victory over Muskogee that locked up the district title for Stillwater.

has been one of the best players in the state this season. Thompson enjoyed a breakout season as a sophomore but missed last year with a leg injury and was incredibly hungry to get back on the field. Thompson has been dominant throughout the season and it doesn’t matter who the Pioneers have faced. He makes 150 yards and two or three touchdowns seem like a routine performance. We’re looking forward to seeing what Thompson does against a tough Choctaw front seven.

this season. After missing all of his junior year with a knee injury, Thompson came back this season and immediately was an impact player for the Pioneers. And despite coming off an injury and the Pioneers having a pretty new offensive line, Thompson still shined. He’s been one of the best overall players in the state this season and he’s coming off two of his best performances of the year. He set the school’s single game rushing record in week nine and then led the way again for the Pioneers in a win over top-ranked Muskogee in week ten. We’re looking forward to what’s next.

is one of the best backs in the state. In a blowout win over Tahlequah at home, Thompson ran for a season-high 343 yards and three touchdowns. It was a workhorse night for Thompson as he finished the game with 32 carries. In the previous week against PC West, Thompson finished with 97 yards on the ground and it was the first time this year that he didn’t run for at least 100 yards. He came back with a vengeance on Thursday night at the expense of the Tahlequah defense. Now, all eyes are on Thompson and the Pioneers as they welcome in top-ranked Muskogee to finish off the regular season. Stillwater holds the 6A-2 crown right now, Muskogee wants it. Friday can’t get here quick enough.

continued to show us why he’s one of the best running backs in the state. Thompson ran for nearly 150 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries in the win. On Friday, we added Thompson to our PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year watchlist and that was decided even before he showed out once again on Thursday night. Thompson has been one of the best players in the state so far this fall and we’re now a few weeks away from the week ten showdown with top-ranked Muskogee at home.
