last season. As a freshman, Johnson cracked the starting lineup and played meaningful snaps against some of the top competition that the Pioneers faced. Offensively, Johnson is another piece to the Stillwater passing game that they will be able to go to when opponents try to slow down their top two guys. He provides them reliable playmaking depth on offense. Defensively, Johnson has shown the ability to be a lockdown corner and he brings that same playmaking ability to the defensive side of the ball. He’s a 2029 prospect with a high upside moving forward.

is a 2029 prospect that has the potential to be one of the more consistent prospects from start to finish in this class. Johnson got meaningful playing time last season as a freshman and he seemed to play some of his best football against some of the top competition. It also seemed like Johnson’s best was on the defensive side of the ball more times than not. But when the Pioneers take the field this season, don’t be surprised to see Johnson spending time on both sides of the ball. But when it comes down to it, the majority of his playing time might be on defense and we might rate Johnson as a DB moving forward. There is a lot to like about his game at the cornerback position after a strong freshman season.

is going to be a two-way name to watch for the Pioneers over the next three seasons. Because of that, we have Johnson listed as an athlete, knowing that he was very productive on both sides of the ball as a freshman. Between what we saw of Johnson in person and then what we watched on film, we are leaning to the defensive side of the ball because he really impressed us with his lockdown skills at the cornerback position. And the moments that really stand out to us is when Stillwater was playing their toughest competition. Johnson was matched up against some really good athletes and held his own as a freshman. Johnson is also one of several prospects in this initial 2029 ranking that comes from a proven next level bloodline. But he backed up the hype with his play on the field.
