Stillwater linebacker Rocky Kolone Rocky Kolone 6'3" | 191 lbs | EDGE/LB Stillwater | 2029 State OK is on the shortlist of players that we’re fired up to watch this season in the 2029 class. All signs point to a possible breakout season for Kolone as he takes an expanded role in the Stillwater defense. He’s the younger brother of BYU signee Nehemiah Kolone and if Rocky plays with the same aggression and physicality as his older brother, he’s going to be just fine in this Stillwater defense. We’ve had a chance to watch Kolone go to work a few times this offseason and each time, you could see flashes of him being a game-wrecker at the linebacker position. But similar to a few others on this breakdown, we want to see that translate to Friday nights.

A big theme with this initial 2029 ranking has been younger brothers stepping out of the shadows and making names for themselves. Stillwater’s Rocky Kolone Rocky Kolone 6'3" | 191 lbs | EDGE/LB Stillwater | 2029 State OK is another example of that. His older brother Nehemiah has been one of the top 2026 edge defenders for a while now. So when we put on the tape of Rocky from his freshman year and see a lot of similar traits that we saw from Nehemiah when he was a freshman, you don’t need to watch much more tape to be sold on the younger Kolone as a prospect to watch. It’s still early for Rocky and all the film we watched was at the JV and freshman-ball level. But the traits are there, the DNA is there and he’s on a path to being a disruptive guy on the varsity level. Whether he’s lined up at linebacker now or as an edge rusher in the future, buy stock now.
