Stillwater senior quarterback Chance Acord Chance Acord 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Stillwater | 2024 State OK joined the Pioneer football program this offseason after moving in from Cashion. Acord would eventually win the QB1 job and he’s played some of his best football over the last five weeks. In those games, Acord has 15 touchdowns with just two interceptions. That includes a performance in the quarterfinals where Acord threw for over 350 yards and five touchdowns. Acord also had a solid performance in the week ten victory over Muskogee. Acord has been efficient and is looking to help lead the Pioneers to another state title.

The quarterback position was a question mark this offseason and the Pioneers had several players battling it out for the QB1 spot. But senior Chance Acord Chance Acord 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Stillwater | 2024 State OK earned the nod after moving to Stillwater this offseason. Acord has gotten better and better throughout the year and while the running game has led the way this fall, Acord and the Stillwater passing game has elevated in the last few weeks. Acord was incredibly efficient in their quarterfinal win over Putnam City on Friday. Look for Acord to build off that performance this week.

Defending 6A-2 state champion Stillwater had no problems in the quarterfinal round. They beat up on Putnam City with a 56-7 victory over the Pirates. Senior quarterback Chance Acord Chance Acord 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Stillwater | 2024 State OK was lights out on Friday night and he was incredibly efficient as the Pioneers made quick work of Putnam City. He threw for just over 350 yards and five touchdowns. He finished the night 11-13 passing with nearly half of his completions going for touchdowns. But now, all eyes shift to Stillwater’s semifinal match-up on Friday night. They face Choctaw in a rematch of last year’s state championship game.

Stillwater’s offense has been clicking on all cylinders over the last few weeks with wins over Booker T Washington and Sand Springs. The Pioneers will hit the road to face Bartlesville on Thursday night in another notable district contest. Stillwater’s offense has been on a roll with a dominant running back but part of their dominance has been the emergence of senior quarterback Chance Acord Chance Acord 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Stillwater | 2024 State OK . He joined the Pioneer football program in the summer and is starting to find a groove in the Stillwater offense. He’s thrown for nearly 1,200 yards so far this season and nearly half of that yardage have come in the last two games. During Stillwater’s four-game winning streak, Acord has thrown seven touchdowns with no interceptions. The Pioneers are quickly turning into a state title contender once again. They certainly look like they can defend their title this season.

Stillwater’s offense had somewhat of a slow start but senior quarterback Chance Acord Chance Acord 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Stillwater | 2024 State OK got them rolling. He started 3-7 but would rattle off ten consecutive completions. On the night, Acord would 19-25 for nearly 200 yards and the touchdown to Heston Thompson Heston Thompson 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR Stillwater | 2024 State OK in the third quarter. Acord was also a threat in the running game with eight carries for 32 yards. Acord did a really good job of commanding the offense and once the Pioneers got going, it was tough to slow them down. Acord made the move to Stillwater this offseason from Cashion and is getting his opportunity to play football at a high level. The passing game did a good job throughout the night and Acord has some good weapons at receiver.
