Stillwater tight end Josh Ford Josh Ford 6'3" | TE Stillwater | 2024 State OK is one of the more intriguing prospects in the state’s 2024 class. He’s staying close to home and right down the street after he signed with Oklahoma State. And there is a lot of potential with what he could be at the next level. But when you look at Stillwater over the last two seasons, you see a player that helped out in the passing game but really excelled as an extension of the offensive line. Ford is a big and strong prospect and you can’t deny his physical dominance. It will be interesting to see how the Cowboys use Ford at the next level and what position he plays.

Ford is your prototypical tight end that is just as dangerous as a blocker as he is as a receiver. Ford gives the Pioneers a massive target in the red zone. And more times than not, he acts as an extension of the Stillwater offensive line as an excellent blocker. Ford is going to provide plenty of versatility when he moves on to the next level at Oklahoma State.

Already committed to Oklahoma State, Stillwater’s tight end Josh Ford Josh Ford 6'3" | TE Stillwater | 2024 State OK might be the ultimate security blanket for whoever lines up at quarterback for the Pioneers. First off, Ford is a very physical tight end and he’s going to be just an extension of that offensive line that will be looking for quite a few new names to step up. So Ford is going to be able to help some of those young players come along. Then, whoever ends up lining up at quarterback, you can’t miss Ford down field because of his size and when in doubt, find the big tight end and let him go get the ball. Ford didn’t have much production in 2022 in the passing game but we anticipate that changing when the 2023 football season begins. The potential is certainly there and he’s another weapon for the Pioneers to use in that passing game.

Headlining this breakdown is Stillwater tight end Josh Ford Josh Ford 6'3" | TE Stillwater | 2024 State OK who has committed to stay at home with Oklahoma State. Just like we said above, Ford definitely fits the mold of a tight end that is more of an extension of a big physical offensive line. But this season, we anticipate his role is going to change quite a bit as the Pioneers have to replace some big names in the skill department as well as the offensive line. The Pioneers will want Ford to help some of those young offensive linemen as they come along and then he’ll also be the security blanket for whoever ends up winning the starting quarterback role. At the time that this is published, that is still undecided. Ford immediately passes the eye test when you see him and he has the potential to be a big threat in Class 6A-2 this fall. We think that his production is going to see a big boost this year in the passing game and then we can’t stress enough how important he’ll be in the run game.

signed with OSU. Now, the top 2024 tight end has committed to Oklahoma State and we think that it’s just the beginning for Ford. As we’ve mentioned before, we’ve been fans of Ford as a power five prospect since seeing him in person at a team camp last May. We’re looking forward to seeing how the Pioneers use him this fall as they work in a new quarterback and have to replace several key parts along the offensive line. But Ford is going to provide the Pioneers with a good cornerstone to go after another gold ball.Access all of Prep Redzone

One of our favorite parts about the offseason and spring practices is finding new prospects that were either under the radar or have grown into new roles within a team’s offense. That second part is the case for Stillwater junior Josh Ford Josh Ford 6'3" | TE Stillwater | 2024 State OK , who we feel like has grown another inch or two since we just saw him at a team camp back in May. While watching the Pioneers, Ford immediately stood out to us just based on his size and skills alone. Then when asking around the Stillwater sideline, there was a consensus thought that Ford has the chance to be the next good prospect to come out of Stillwater. Watching him a few times earlier this season, fellow Prep Redzone writers felt the same way. If he continues to progress on the field, he could end up having not only D1 but Power 5 potential.

Stillwater tight end and defensive end Josh Ford Josh Ford 6'3" | TE Stillwater | 2024 State OK is another 2024 prospect that you need to go ahead and buy stock in now. Ford absolutely looks the part and Barnard believes that as his game continues to improve on the field, he already has the measurables to be a power five prospect at the next level. We got a chance to see Ford briefly at one of the team camps back during the spring and he was arguably the most physically impressive prospect on the Stillwater roster. One of our other writers watched him in person earlier this season and made a note that he does have the physical numbers to be one of the higher rated prospects. The more we see of Ford on the field, the more we like and we think that he could end up being one of the top prospects in the state. It’s still very early in the process but he’s already outplayed his current ranking as a prospect.
