Throughout the month of February, we have been updating the prospect rankings on Prep Redzone Oklahoma. You can check out all of the different class rankings now, as well as some of our archived rankings from past classes. We finish up the month with our 2024 ranking update and we’ve expanded it to the Top 250 2024 prospects in the state. The majority of these prospects have already signed their letters of intent and are headed off to the next level. Throughout the next few days, we’ll be putting the spotlight on the top ten prospects at each position. In this post, we’re taking a look at the top wide receivers and tight ends in this class. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more prospect breakdowns!
Wagoner standout Witt Edwards Witt Edwards 6’6″ | 200 lbs | WR Wagoner | 2024 State OK is one of the more unique prospects on this breakdown. We’re not entirely sure just how many positions Edwards has played during his time at Wagoner, but we know it’s quite a few on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Edwards is one of the better pass catching talents to come out of Wagoner and is headed to the next level at Vanderbilt. Edwards has been a consistent top ten overall prospect for a while now and we know that the Vandy coaches made a strong connection with Edwards early on. Whether he’s a receiver, tight end or anything else, he’s special.
Washington tight end Cooper Alexander Cooper Alexander 6’4″ | 205 lbs | TE Washington | 2024 State OK is on the very short list of top prospects in this class that we knew about as freshmen. During his freshman year, Alexander was considered one of the better overall prospects in this class and nothing changed over the next three seasons. Alexander has consistently been one of the top overall prospects and the top guy at the tight end position. Alexander is headed to Iowa State and there’s some recent history that says an Oklahoma tight end can succeed up there. Alexander has a very impressive skillset and should have a strong career in Ames.
Muskogee standout Kayden McGee Kayden McGee 6’1″ | WR Muskogee | 2024 State OK is one of our favorite prospects to come out of this 2024 class and there’s a simple explanation. Big plays. Every time we’ve seen McGee in person over the last three seasons, whether it’s at Muskogee or in 7v7 tournaments, he always makes a play or two (or three) that makes us say wow. He’s a special talent that has made a massive jump from when he was a freshman and sophomore to where he is now. He committed to UNLV over the summer and eventually signed with the Rebels. We’re fired up to see what kind of production he can have in their offense.
Stillwater tight end Josh Ford Josh Ford 6’3″ | TE Stillwater | 2024 State OK is one of the more intriguing prospects in the state’s 2024 class. He’s staying close to home and right down the street after he signed with Oklahoma State. And there is a lot of potential with what he could be at the next level. But when you look at Stillwater over the last two seasons, you see a player that helped out in the passing game but really excelled as an extension of the offensive line. Ford is a big and strong prospect and you can’t deny his physical dominance. It will be interesting to see how the Cowboys use Ford at the next level and what position he plays.
Classen SAS wide receiver Elijah Green Elijah Green 6’2″ | 180 lbs | WR Classen SAS @ Ne | 2024 State OK is headed to the next level as he signed with Tulsa during the early signing period. Green played for a Classen program that has struggled over the last few seasons but that didn’t mean he was hiding under a rock. College coaches took notice of him and despite the team struggles, he was on their radar and his recruitment took off during the offseason between his junior and senior seasons. Green is an athletic wide receiver that can do a lot of things well at the next level. We’re looking forward to seeing how much playing time he receives early on.
Highlights
It’s not very often that you see an Oklahoma prospect sign with New Hampshire but that’s the case here. Sulphur standout Damontre Patterson Damontre Patterson 5’10” | 145 lbs | WR Sulphur | 2024 State OK would sign with New Hampshire after believing in the relationships he built with the coaches there. Patterson is one of the fastest prospects in this class and he was one of he earliest prospects on our radar with this group. And during his freshman year, we thought Patterson was going to be more of a cornerback at the next level. But a few years later, he’s made the move to wide receiver and he’s using that legit track speed to make plays on offense.
Highlights
Bixby standout Kordell Gouldsby Kordell Gouldsby 5’11” | WR Bixby | 2024 State OK is another prospect in this class and on this breakdown that we knew about when he was a freshman. His first two seasons were headlined with season-ending injuries. He was a standout for Bixby as a junior and then became one of the state’s very best players as a senior. Gouldsby was an absolute star for the Spartans and every time he touched the ball, he had a chance to do something special. In the state title game, he was unstoppable with five touchdowns on the night. Gouldsby is a very special prospect and should have a very successful college career.
Edison standout Corey Rowland Corey Rowland 6’1″ | 175 lbs | WR Thomas Edison Preparatory | 2024 State OK might be signed and headed to Weatherford to play for SWOSU as a DB but we still love his playmaking ability at the wide receiver position. In all honesty, we could have put Rowland in three different positions for this breakdown. Wide receiver, defensive back or just a general athlete. Either way, he was one of the top overall prospects in this class. Similar to Green, he might have flown under the radar during the season because of team struggles but make no mistake, this kid is an absolute game changer and has the potential to be an absolute star.

It was only a matter of time before Deuce Chalk Deuce Chalk 6’2″ | 175 lbs | WR Owasso | 2024 State OK became one of the state’s best wide receivers in this class. We had seen Chalk during the last few offseasons in 7v7 tournaments and he was routinely one of the best wide receivers in attendance. He made a move from Booker T Washington to Owasso and he immediately became the big play threat for the Rams and their passing game. Owasso’s offense was absolutely electric during the 2023 season but Chalk was their threat down the field. And that’s what he’s been for a few years now. He’ll get an opportunity to continue that in college.
Union wide receiver Jino Boyd Jino Boyd 6’0″ | WR Union | 2024 State OK got on our radar shortly after his freshman season. Honestly, it was around this time three years ago that we first saw Boyd in a 7v7 tournament and thought there was a lot of potential there. In the next three seasons, Boyd was Union’s top wide receiver and finished off his career as one of the more consistent receivers in recent history at Union. Boyd is so incredibly consistent that he’s going to make an impact at the next level. He rarely made mistakes and he’s a big play waiting to happen. He’s headed to Pittsburg State and should be an instant impact player there.
