This is a class that will go down in the history books as one of the best in state history. We've updated our 2027 rankings to include the Top 200 prospects in the state. We have a ton of individual breakdowns dropping every day to spotlight some of those special prospects. In this breakdown, we're taking a look at five of the elite defensive backs in the state's 2027 class. All five of these guys are committed and committed to P4 programs. Two of them are top four overall prospects. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more 2027 individual breakdowns!

Broken Arrow star [player_tooltip player_id='478124' first='Semaj' last='Stanford'] is the first of three Tigers on this breakdown as BA has a very strong case for having the best secondary in the state. Stanford has been one of the best 2027 prospects in the state since his freshman season. He emerged as a legitimate star in his first two seasons at Jenks. Then he came over to Broken Arrow last spring and he firmly established himself as one of the best players in the nation. Stanford is a prospect that we have been told for years that his on-field IQ is one of the best coaches have been around. He checks every single box and he's as close to a “sure thing” as you'll find in the recruiting game. This spring, Stanford announced his commitment to Oregon and will go wire to wire as a top five prospect in this class.

Osborne started his career at Putnam City with more of a focus on hoops than football. During his freshman year and 15U AAU the raw athleticism that would make him a potential D1 athlete in either sport. As it often is in the case in Oklahoma, football won out. For good reason, as after transferring to Mustang he quickly became a national prospect. Osborne makes insane plays on both sides of the ball and scarily enough he's just scratching the surface. From a football-basketball standpoint, he compares similarly to past Oklahoma multi sport stars like Josh Proctor (Owasso) and Corey Gordon (Putnam City West). And impressively, he's an even better athlete than either. Osborne is staying in state with a commitment to OU.

Yebit made a significant jump up the recent ranking update and he's right there in the mix as the state's top cornerback prospect. Yebit is in a similar situation to some of the other DB prospects in this class. There were flashes of him being a special athlete early on in his career and then it was like someone poured gasoline all over an open flame. Yebit exploded in the last year and became one of the state's top overall prospects. Last season, he produced at a very high level on offense and defense. He proved week in and week out against 6A-1 competition that he's a top DB in the state. The athleticism he has is off the charts and he just continues to climb the 2027 ranks and joins Gillespie as a TCU commit in this class.

BA cornerback and TCU commit [player_tooltip player_id='485526' first='Noah' last='Gillespie'] is one of the state's best cover cornerbacks. There were flashes of that dynamic play during his sophomore season. A little over a year ago, Gillespie moved from Union and joined Broken Arrow's talented group of secondary standouts. He's become an absolute star at the cornerback position. He's a 2027 prospect that has absolutely blown up in the last 18 months and is possibly still probably underrated for what he brings to the field. This summer, he became another Broken Arrow DB that was committed to a P4 program. He announced his commitment to TCU back in June.

“BB” is the third Broken Arrow Tiger on this breakdown, further supporting their very strong case for having the best secondary in the state. Brown is another 2027 prospect that has been on the radar for a while. It was the spring after Brown's sophomore season where he blew up and became a national prospect. By the end of Brown's active recruitment, we lost count on how many offers Brown pulled in. Like Stanford and Gillespie, he moved to Broken Arrow last year and made up one part of a very talented secondary group. Brown is a prospect that has a lot of potential moving forward. This summer, he announced his commitment as he settled in on staying in-state and committing to Oklahoma State. He's stayed with the Cowboys ever since.
