got on our radar shortly after his freshman season. Honestly, it was around this time three years ago that we first saw Boyd in a 7v7 tournament and thought there was a lot of potential there. In the next three seasons, Boyd was Union’s top wide receiver and finished off his career as one of the more consistent receivers in recent history at Union. Boyd is so incredibly consistent that he’s going to make an impact at the next level. He rarely made mistakes and he’s a big play waiting to happen. He’s headed to Pittsburg State and should be an instant impact player there.

Union’s passing game is certainly going to have a lot of attention this week as the #2 Redhawks host #8 Mustang on Friday night. Union will more than likely be without their star quarterback and that will put a freshman into the backfield for Union. Regardless of who’s playing quarterback, that player is going to have an excellent receiver group to work with. Senior

has been leading that group over the last several seasons and is once again the leading receiver on this Union squad. Boyd has been a playmaker since he was a freshman and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do against a talented Mustang secondary. Boyd 2024 prospect that we’ve been writing about since his freshman season and he’s only continued to get better every time we’ve seen him. Boyd leads a balanced receiver group that has been one of the more productive groups in the state.

since the spring semester of his freshman year. Boyd has been Union’s leading receiver the last two years and he has the chance to rewrite the record book at Union this fall. The Reisig to Boyd connection in the passing game is going to be arguably the best in 6A-1 and one of the top connections in the state. Boyd was incredibly productive last season and specifically late in the year. He had back to back weeks where he caught four touchdown passes. Two games, eight touchdowns. This is why we’ve been talking about him as one of the top guys at his position for well over two years now.

has been on our radar since the end of his freshman season. We were excited about his potential seeing him in that offseason between his freshman and sophomore seasons and he’s lived up to the hype we had early on. Boyd has led the Redhawks in receiving the last two seasons and is definitely going to be the top target in the Union passing game this fall. Boyd doesn’t have the prototypical size or the track speed that some other receivers in this class have but it really hasn’t impacted his playmaking ability. Time after time, Boyd finds a way to get open and make the catch. And even when he’s not open, there have been plenty of instances where he has found a way to make the catch while being draped by defenders. We think that he’s one of the more underrated offensive weapons in the state’s 2024 class. He is going to make a college staff look incredibly smart when he gets on campus.

in person and it was at a 7v7 tournament with 918 Elite. Boyd is going to be one of the best wide receivers at the event this weekend. It doesn’t matter who they go up against, Boyd finds a way to get open and make plays. As a sophomore and junior, Boyd also led Union in receiving and is primed for a big senior season. His recruitment is starting to take off as well and we’re looking forward to seeing how many plays he makes this weekend.

and he is going to be in position to do the same in 2023 and some receiving records at Union might fall and have Boyd’s name at the top. Boyd is a prospect that we’ve watched continue to get better and better over the last two years. We first saw him during the second semester of his freshman year and have covered him quite a bit ever since. And the one thing that is always impressive about Boyd is his ability to catch everything that’s even remotely near him. Boyd wasn’t Union’s leading receiver halfway thru the 2022 season but he finished the year with some of his absolute best performances in the last month of the season. He even had a two-week stretch where he had 19 catches for nearly 400 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s productive, he’s consistent and he’s one of the best receiver prospects in this class.

. In the regular season finale against Edmond North and then the quarterfinal game against Broken Arrow, Boyd had four touchdowns in each game and that’s easy enough math for us. Eight touchdown receptions in his last two outings. Boyd is one of the top wide receivers in the state’s 2024 class and he’s playing like it. He’s a big play threat and has been all season for the Redhawks. Last season, Boyd was Union’s leading wide receiver and he’s definitely up there in terms of touchdown receptions at this point. Boyd is another part of this Union offense that is so efficient and features several playmakers.

found himself open time after time as he torched the Edmond North defense. Boyd would finish with well over 200 yards receiving and four touchdowns on 14 catches. Boyd is one of Union’s more underrated playmakers and he’s playing some of his best football right now. Union beat up on Edmond North in week ten and they come into the playoffs as the team to beat in Class 6A-1.Access all of Prep Redzone

. As a freshman, Boyd got onto the field for Union, which doesn’t happen very often. As a sophomore, Boyd became Union’s leading wide receiver. This year, within a very balanced offense, Boyd is still having a very productive season as defenses struggle to find a way to contain the Redhawks on offense. Boyd is similar to Thompson where he’s not the biggest receiver prospect in the class, but it hasn’t mattered because Boyd runs crisp routes, gets open but it doesn’t matter if he also has a defender draped all over him, he finds a way to get to the ball and make the catch. Boyd has been a prospect to watch on the 2024 radar for us for a while now and more college coaches are starting to take notice. Look for Boyd to be one of the bigger difference makers during Union’s playoff run.
