The second round of the playoffs is in the books and every Sunday, Prep Redzone Oklahoma takes a look across the state and put a spotlight on some of the best individual performances from the week of games. Whether it was a stat sheet stuffing performance or a clutch moment in one of the state’s biggest games, we’re putting a spotlight on more kids and their accomplishments on the field than ever before! Defending 3A champion Heritage Hall remained undefeated on the season and their pursuit of another state championship is still alive. The Chargers absolutely dominated from start to finish in the quarterfinal round with a 49-0 win over Berryhill. Senior quarterback Andy Bass Andy Bass 6’0″ | 195 lbs | ATH Heritage Hall | 2024 State OK continued his dominant senior season. He threw for well over 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns and then also added nearly 200 yards and four touchdowns on just ten carries. Bass and the Chargers are now one win away from another state championship appearance. They face Marlow in the semifinals.
Highlights
We go from one dominant dual-threat quarterback to another. Victory Christian went on the road and beat Prague 52-39. Senior Ayden Hamilton Ayden Hamilton 6’1″ | 180 lbs | QB Victory Christian | 2024 State OK continues to show why he might be the best player in Oklahoma this year. He threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns on 16-21 passing. He also added 230 yards and five touchdowns on 27 carries. With his 230 yards on the ground, Hamilton now has well over 2,000 yards rushing this season to go along with nearly 2,500 yards passing. Those numbers are rare to see and Hamilton has done it in the biggest games of the year.
Defending 6A-2 state champion Stillwater had no problems in the quarterfinal round. They beat up on Putnam City with a 56-7 victory over the Pirates. Senior quarterback Chance Acord Chance Acord 6’0″ | 190 lbs | QB Stillwater | 2024 State OK was lights out on Friday night and he was incredibly efficient as the Pioneers made quick work of Putnam City. He threw for just over 350 yards and five touchdowns. He finished the night 11-13 passing with nearly half of his completions going for touchdowns. But now, all eyes shift to Stillwater’s semifinal match-up on Friday night. They face Choctaw in a rematch of last year’s state championship game.
Apache was dominant in their second round win over visiting Stratford on Friday night. Shortly after a beautiful sunset in southwestern Oklahoma, the Warriors went to work. Senior standout Dominick Scott Dominick Scott 6’0″ | ATH Apache | 2024 State OK put together a great performance that could not be contained. He was a complete player on both sides of the ball. On offense, Scott ran for just over 150 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught six passes for nearly 70 yards and a touchdown. On defense, he also added seven tackles and a pair of interceptions. Apache now focuses on a quarterfinal showdown with top-ranked Hominy.
Deer Creek jumped out early on Bartlesville and the Antlers rolled to a 35-7 win over the visiting Bruins. The Antlers were led by a defensive effort that completely shut down Bartlesville’s high-powered running game. But offensively, junior quarterback Grady Adamson Grady Adamson 6’1″ | 215 lbs | QB Deer Creek | 2025 State OK was once again efficient on the night. Adamson threw for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 9-12 passing. Adamson also finished the night with 92 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Adamson has reached a new level this season as a true dual-threat weapon on the offensive side of the ball. They will face Muskogee on Friday night.
Highlights
Poteau remained undefeated on the season with a 28-18 victory over visiting Newcastle. The Pirates were boosted by senior running back Jackson Sommers Jackson Sommers 5’8″ | RB Poteau | 2024 OK on Friday night. He finished the night with nearly 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns on just 11 carries. Poteau is now 12-0 on the season and they have a semifinal showdown with Blanchard on Friday night. Sommers missed part of this season with an injury and he is looking more like the dominant running presence that we saw last season. With Sommers back to 100 percent, the Pirates are a serious threat to win the gold ball.
The Kiefer Trojans kept their undefeated season alive with a 64-28 victory over Tahlequah Sequoyah. Senior standout Jentry Pendergraft Jentry Pendergraft 6’1″ | 205 lbs | LB Kiefer | 2024 State OK showed again why he’s one of the best two-way players in Class 2A. On offense, Pendergraft finished with nearly 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns from the running back position. On defense, Pendergraft finished the night with 12 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles. And as if that wasn’t enough, he also blocked a punt on special teams. The Trojans will now face Alva with a spot in the semifinals on the line Friday afternoon.
Highlights
It was another dominant performance from Class 5A’s defending champion on Friday night. Top-ranked Carl Albert kept their undefeated season alive and their pursuit of another gold ball. Junior quarterback and Oklahoma commit Kevin Sperry Kevin Sperry 6’2″ | 190 lbs | QB Denton Guyer | 2025 TX was nearly perfect on the night as they beat Collinsville 52-14. Sperry would throw for 181 yards and two touchdowns on 8-9 passing. He also added 60 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 11 carries. Carl Albert rolled from the start and now they will see a familiar foe in the semifinals. They face Bishop McGuinness on Friday night in Noble.
Idabel got a big test from Kansas in the second round on Friday night but the Warriors pulled out the 42-28 victory over the Comets. Junior standout Matrail Lopez Matrail Lopez 6’0″ | 175 lbs | ATH Idabel | 2025 State OK was the star of the night and he could not be stopped in any aspect of the game. As a running back, Lopez finished with nearly 175 yards and four touchdowns on 12 carries. He also had four catches for nearly 50 yards and a touchdown. He also had eight tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Lopez has been one of the more electric players in the state and we’re fired up to see him in the quarterfinals against powerhouse Millwood.

In the Class A second round, Woodland squared off with Colcord in one of the best games of the second round in any class. Woodland would stun Colcord with less than 30 seconds to play to beat them 28-24. Junior quarterback Trey Bennett Trey Bennett 6’3″ | 195 lbs | QB Woodland | 2025 State OK helped lead the Cougars to the win and was clutch down the stretch. The dual-threat quarterback accounted for nearly 300 yards of total offense. He finished the game with four total touchdowns but the most important came with 16 seconds left. He scored from a few yards out to punch Woodland’s ticket to the quarterfinals, where they’ll face Dibble.

Carson Cooksey Carson Cooksey 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Blanchard | 2024 State OK – 2024 Quarterback – Blanchard
Blanchard ended Sallisaw’s cinderella run in the quarterfinals with a 55-28 win on Friday night. Senior quarterback Carson Cooksey Carson Cooksey 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Blanchard | 2024 State OK was lights out as a passer and a runner. He threw for nearly 300 yards and also added 80 yards on the ground. Cooksey would account for three touchdowns as the offense was clicking on all cylinders. The Lions now move on to the semifinal round to face Poteau.
Cash Williams Cash Williams 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Choctaw | 2025 State OK – 2025 Quarterback – Choctaw
Choctaw kept their season alive and that pursuit of the elusive gold ball by beating Sand Springs 45-15 on Friday night. Junior quarterback Cash Williams Cash Williams 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Choctaw | 2025 State OK continues to dominate as arguably the best dual-threat quarterback in 6A-2. He threw for 161 yards on 12-16 passing. He then added just over 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns on seven carries. They face Stillwater in a 2022 6A-2 title rematch.
Hudson Howard Hudson Howard 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB Washington | 2025 State OK – 2025 Running Back – Washington
Defending 2A champ Washington kept their perfect season in tact with a 56-7 win over Meeker on Friday night. The Warriors rolled again and it was quick work for the starters yet again. Junior running back was dominant in an early exit. He only had ten carries but would run for just over 200 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Washington now faces Vian in a rematch from week zero.
Knox Dyson Knox Dyson 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Owasso | 2024 State OK – 2024 Quarterback – Owasso
For the second straight season, Owasso beat Norman North in the quarterfinals. The Rams move on to face Bixby in the semifinals on Friday night. Senior quarterback Knox Dyson Knox Dyson 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Owasso | 2024 State OK was once again lights out. He threw for nearly 250 yards and four touchdowns on 22-27 passing. The four touchdowns went to four different wide receivers. Dyson and the Rams now shift their focus to knocking off Bixby.
Sawyer Brooks Sawyer Brooks 5'10" | ATH Lincoln Christian | 2024 State OK – 2024 Running Back – Lincoln Christian
Lincoln Christian had no problems on Friday night. They took down Sulphur with a 45-7 victory in a match-up featuring top five teams. Senior running back and linebacker Sawyer Brooks Sawyer Brooks 5'10" | ATH Lincoln Christian | 2024 State OK impacted the game in all three phases. He finished with nearly 100 yards on the ground. He also had 13 tackles with two coming behind the line of scrimmage. He also blocked a punt that resulted in a Lincoln touchdown.
