narrowly beat out Fields for the 2023 Prep Redzone Oklahoma Player Of The Year award. In the very first game of his senior season, it was obvious that Bass was on a different level than just about everyone that he was playing against. The story for Bass didn’t have a happy ending as he tore his ACL in the state title game. But it doesn’t take away from the magnificent season he had. Bass also emerged as one of the state’s very best prospects. After tearing it up at OU’s camps last summer, he earned an opportunity in Norman and is ready for it.

made it very clear early on this season that he was one of Oklahoma’s best football players. He helped guide the Chargers back to the Class 3A state championship game to defend their 2022 title. Unfortunately, Bass would go down with a torn ACL early on in the second half and that deflated their attempt at a second straight title. Bass would still have a very memorable season with over 4,500 yards of total offense and 66 touchdowns. He threw for over 3,100 yards and 35 touchdowns and he also added nearly 1,500 yards and 30 touchdowns on the ground. Every time we saw Bass in person, he was absolutely unstoppable. Even in the state title game, he was dominating with 300 yards of total offense and all four Heritage Hall touchdowns before his knee ultimately gave out. Bass was really good as a junior but he elevated his game to becoming one of Oklahoma’s best overall players during his senior season.Access all of Prep Redzone

was that quarterback and he was the best player in Class 3A this season and one of the best players in the state. Bass accounted for over 4,500 yards of total offense with 35 passing touchdowns and 30 rushing touchdowns. He was a scoring machine and could not be stopped. Even in the state championship game, Bass had 300 yards of total offense and had accounted for all four Heritage Hall touchdowns prior to going down with a knee injury. From the opening scrimmages and games this season, it was clear that Bass was one of the state’s best and he proved that week after week with some of the best performances from an individual. Whether it was throwing the ball or running the ball, every time he took a snap, there was a threat of a Heritage Hall touchdown.

was the best player on the field and he would typically be that every single week this season. Bass threw for nearly 340 yards and three touchdowns on 22-30 passing. He also added nearly 100 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. This season, Bass finished with 35 passing touchdowns and 30 rushing touchdowns. It was clear then and it’s clear now that he’s one of the best in the state.Access all of Prep Redzone

is without a doubt one of the best players in the state. He has the stats, he has the accolades and he also has that clutch gene that should play a major role in Saturday’s game. Bass has some absolutely staggering numbers this season. He’s thrown for just over 3,000 yards and 34 touchdowns with only two interceptions. He’s also run for just over 1,300 yards and 27 touchdowns. And he was a star in their state championship win last season. He’s one of the best players in the state and the only question is whether or not he adds another title to his resume.

is one of the best players in the state. That was crystal clear from the first moment we saw him on the football field this season. Before the year even began, in a scrimmage at Carl Albert, Bass flourished. He did it again in their season opener against Millwood. He’s incredibly dynamic and he’s a player that can carry a team to a state championship. Bass shined bright in last year’s state championship game and it would be foolish to think that he can’t do it again. He produces, he’s clutch and he’s a winner. That’s a deadly combination at the high school level.

has been one of the best players in the state this season. Bass is putting together one of the more memorable seasons in Class 3A over the last several seasons. He has put up some video game numbers in both the passing and running game. But when it comes to what makes Bass the most dangerous, there is no doubt that it’s his running ability. Bass is one of the fastest players in the state and he’s proven that with his dominance on the track. And when he decides to tuck the ball and run and has some open field, he’s incredibly hard to bring down.

continued his dominant senior season. He threw for well over 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns and then also added nearly 200 yards and four touchdowns on just ten carries. Bass and the Chargers are now one win away from another state championship appearance. They face Marlow in the semifinals.

on the offensive side of the ball at quarterback. Bass is committed to the Sooners to play running back after absolutely dominating the camp scene in Norman over the summer. He enjoyed a breakout season for the Chargers last season but he also had one of the best running backs in Class 3A last season. So it was going to be interesting to see how Bass and the Chargers would look when all eyes were on him this season. Bass immediately erased any doubts about Heritage Hall this season in the first game of the season when he torched Millwood back in week one. Whether he’s throwing it or running it, Bass has been one of the best players in the state this season.

There’s no doubt what is the best game of the week this week in Class 3A and it features top-ranked and defending state champion Heritage Hall hosting #3 Sulphur. The Chargers have been perfect this season and have been led by senior

at the quarterback position. But this week, they are facing arguably their toughest test of the season and definitely their toughest test since the season opener against Millwood. They’ll face a Sulphur team that is on a roll and just handed Marlow their first loss of the season last week. But on the flip side, Sulphur hasn’t played a quarterback that is quite as dynamic as Bass. And that’s simply because there aren’t many (or any) quarterbacks in the state that are as dynamic. And Bass is coming off one of his best performances this season. He accounted for eight total touchdowns in a win last week while throwing for five touchdowns and then adding three more on the ground.
