These are some of the more versatile prospects in the state. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more prospect breakdowns!
Del City standout Ladainian Fields Ladainian Fields 6’2″ | 180 lbs | ATH Del City | 2024 State OK was on the very short list of best football player in the state last season. After moving from Southeast to Del City, Fields finished off his high school career as one of the state’s very best two-way players. Fields emerged as a sophomore at Southeast where he was one of the better young receivers in the state. As a junior, Fields became an absolute ball hawk and impressed us with his defensive abilities. And then finally this year, Fields put it all together with offense, defense and even sprinkle in special teams. He’s a special player and headed to Oklahoma State.

Heritage Hall quarterback Andy Bass Andy Bass 6’0″ | 195 lbs | ATH Heritage Hall | 2024 State OK narrowly beat out Fields for the 2023 Prep Redzone Oklahoma Player Of The Year award. In the very first game of his senior season, it was obvious that Bass was on a different level than just about everyone that he was playing against. The story for Bass didn’t have a happy ending as he tore his ACL in the state title game. But it doesn’t take away from the magnificent season he had. Bass also emerged as one of the state’s very best prospects. After tearing it up at OU’s camps last summer, he earned an opportunity in Norman and is ready for it.

Out of all the prospects on this breakdown, Union standout Issac Covington Issac Covington 5’11” | 190 lbs | ATH Union | 2024 State OK was one that we knew about first. Before he even entered high school, we thought Covington had a chance to be a special player. At Booker T Washington, Covington was outstanding on both sides of the ball. He continued to do the same thing at Union over the last two seasons. And when we look back at his senior year, you can make the argument that he was the most important player to the Redhawks. And we are fired up that he’s getting to play at the D1 level after signing with Tulsa. No matter where he lines up, he can play.
Despite being at Del City now, Micheal Graham Micheal Graham 6’0″ | ATH Del City | 2024 State OK was at Westmoore during his senior season last fall and made the most of the opportunity. Graham was easily one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the state and what’s impressive is that he did it at the highest level in Oklahoma. Against some of the best teams in the state, he made them look silly at times. He won big games and had some big performances in those victories. So needless to say, Graham is a football player and while he might not be a quarterback at the next level, he’s something at the next level. Don’t overlook his abilities as a cornerback.
Poteau standout Dax Collins Dax Collins 6’2″ | 180 lbs | ATH Poteau | 2024 State OK has been on our radar for a long time. And what’s crazy to us is that Collins is the first D1 signee to come out of Poteau in nearly three decades. Poteau has been one of the best programs in 4A football over the last decade and Collins is the best of the bunch. Collins is your prototypical athlete where he has had a massive impact in all three phases of the game. And as he moves on to Tulsa, Collins is going to be able to fit in just about anywhere Tulsa tries to play him. Even now, we’re not sure what the natural fit is but we know he can play wherever they put him.
Highlights
Broken Arrow standout Derrick Osmond Derrick Osmond 6’6″ | 245 lbs | ATH Broken Arrow | 2024 State OK is headed to the next level and it looks like it’ll be on offense as a tight end. Osmond signed back in December with Texas State at the tight end position. In high school, Osmond was a standout on both sides of the ball and we could see an argument to be made for him to be a next level talent on either side of the ball. But on offense, Osmond was very impressive as a tight end. Looking back at some of our notes on him, Osmond was an extension of the offensive line and did a great job of blocking and being a very physical player coming off the line. But don’t overlook his ability as a receiver.
Highlights
Pocola standout Garrett Scott Garrett Scott 6’2″ | 170 lbs | ATH Pocola | 2024 State OK is in a similar situation to Graham as one of the top remaining prospects in the state’s 2024 class. And just like Graham, Scott is a standout on both sides of the ball and on the basketball floor. From what we’ve learned, Scott could end up going to the next level to play college basketball. But on the football field, Scott was one of the more dynamic players in Class A last season. We have Scott listed as an athlete in this final ranking update but he was an absolute star at the wide receiver position. He put up some monster numbers and it doesn’t take much viewing time, in person or on film to realize he’s a next level talent.
Bishop Kelley standout Sam Rhoades V Sam Rhoades V 6’4″ | 235 lbs | ATH Bishop Kelley | 2024 State OK is headed off to Air Force to play at the next level and we’re fired up to see where that takes him. First off, Rhoades has the ability to play on either side of the ball and we firmly believe that. On offense, Rhoades is a solid tight end that could turn into a hybrid fullback. On defense, Rhoades was outstanding during his senior season as a defensive end coming off the edge. He’s another example of a prospect on this breakdown that could play a variety of positions at the next level. For some guys, that position is obvious, for Rhoades, he has options.

Similar to Scott at Pocola, Victory Christian’s Michael Doctor Michael Doctor 6’1″ | ATH Victory Christian | 2024 State OK has slid into a wide receiver role when it comes to his future at the next level. But we can’t help but wrap up Doctor’s high school career with him as an athlete. Because just like with Scott, Doctor was a standout on both sides of the ball and he’s also a star for the Conquerors on the basketball floor. But Doctor is headed out west to SWOSU to play wide receiver and we have no doubts that he can play at a high level on offense. As an overall football prospect, Doctor somewhat flew under the radar but we think he has a bright future at the next level on the gridiron.
Piedmont senior Cannon Wood Cannon Wood 6’1″ | 215 lbs | ATH Piedmont | 2024 State OK has been one of the state’s top two-way stars for the last two seasons. Wood wrapped up his high school career as an All State 1st Team selection in back to back seasons. Wood was a standout running back in Piedmont’s option offense. He turned around and was a star on the defensive side of the ball at linebacker. And it looks like it’s the defensive side of the ball for Wood at the next level. He signed with UCO and he will join a linebacker class that is absolutely stacked. Five of the top ten linebackers in the 2024 class signed with UCO and that doesn’t include Wood, who adds even more depth.
