is headed to the next level and it looks like it’ll be on offense as a tight end. Osmond signed back in December with Texas State at the tight end position. In high school, Osmond was a standout on both sides of the ball and we could see an argument to be made for him to be a next level talent on either side of the ball. But on offense, Osmond was very impressive as a tight end. Looking back at some of our notes on him, Osmond was an extension of the offensive line and did a great job of blocking and being a very physical player coming off the line. But don’t overlook his ability as a receiver.

has to be considered Broken Arrow’s top prospect coming into the 2023 football season. Osmond enjoyed a breakout season as a junior last fall, where he started getting on college radars and has earned offers from multiple D1 programs and quickly has become a power five prospect. The measurables on Osmond are off the charts and are a big reason why he continues to climb prospect rankings within the state’s 2024 class. Whether it’s as a blocking tight end on offense or a terrorizing defensive end on defense, Osmond is going to be a player that has a major impact on the Tigers this season.

and he’s one of the top two-way players in the 2024 class.. On offense, Osmond is a standout tight end and gives the Tigers a big and physical threat in the passing game. He also provides an extension of the offensive line that paved the way for multiple 1,000 yard rushers a season ago. Osmond is a physical player that loves to hit and he will turn around and give the Tigers a pass-rushing threat off the edge. Whether he’s putting his hand in the turf and coming off as a defensive end or more of an outside linebacker, Osmond has a pretty bright future moving forward. He was impressive when we got a chance to see him in person last month at a team camp in Owasso. That backed up what we saw on his film from earlier this offseason.

was one of the top prospects in attendance throughout the camp in Owasso. For us, it looked like Osmond shined brightest on the defensive side of the ball. But Osmond showed plenty of instances where he’s going to be a helpful part of the Broken Arrow offense. Whether he’s a pass-catching tight end or a blocking tight end, Osmond is going to provide a spark on the offense. But on defense, Osmond was an absolute game-wrecker. It looked like Osmond has a lot of freedom on the defensive side of the ball. He can line up as a traditional defensive end or back up to more of an outside linebacker role. Either way, Osmond had a big impact on defense.

listed as a tight end but that might be changing very soon. After watching his film on offense and defense from his junior season, we were very impressed with what he was able to do on the defensive side of the ball. As a stand up defensive end, Osmond is an absolute monster coming off the edge and has a variety of moves to beat opposing offensive tackles. One that really stood out was his swim move going to the inside as he beat several different offensive tackles. Osmond also did a good job absorbing blocks on running plays, waiting until the right moment and shedding them with authority and making a play on the ball carrier. On offense, Osmond showed all the traits he showed on defense with his physicality. And with Broken Arrow having two running backs eclipse 1,000 yards, Osmond was doing a lot of blocking throughout the season. Another underrated part of his film was how many clips he had against some of Broken Arrow’s best opponents like Jenks, Owasso and Union. Osmond has a bright future on either side of the ball.

. Fast forward to right now and he’s rated as one of the better tight ends in a very special tight end class and as an overall prospect. Osmond’s recruitment is starting to take off as he’s starting to receive real interest and offers from D1 programs and when you throw on the tape, it’s not hard to see why. Osmond immediately passes the eye test as he’s a very physical blocker and was an extension of Broken Arrow’s offensive line during the 2022 season. This was a Broken Arrow offense that had not one, but two different players go for over 1,000 yards on the ground. Osmond is listed as a tight end here but we’re not going to close the door on him possibly lining up at at defensive end as well. We definitely want to see more of him this spring.
