Pocola standout Garrett Scott Garrett Scott 6'2" | 170 lbs | ATH Pocola | 2024 State OK is in a similar situation to Graham as one of the top remaining prospects in the state’s 2024 class. And just like Graham, Scott is a standout on both sides of the ball and on the basketball floor. From what we’ve learned, Scott could end up going to the next level to play college basketball. But on the football field, Scott was one of the more dynamic players in Class A last season. We have Scott listed as an athlete in this final ranking update but he was an absolute star at the wide receiver position. He put up some monster numbers and it doesn’t take much viewing time, in person or on film to realize he’s a next level talent.

2024 standout Garrett Scott Garrett Scott 6'2" | 170 lbs | ATH Pocola | 2024 State OK is the other Pocola playmaker that has starred on the basketball floor but his ceiling might be higher on the football field. Scott really reminds us of Mustang 2023 WR/DB Jacobe Johnson, who earned Under Armour All American honors and is now at OU. Like Johnson, Scott has become one of the better guards in the state’s 2024 class for basketball. But like Johnson, we think that Scott should absolutely explode as a prospect for what he can do on the football field. Scott has been incredibly productive at the wide receiver position over the last few seasons. He also has the ability to shut opponents down as a defensive back. We watched Scott play quite a bit of basketball in the last eight months and we think that the raw athleticism is clearly there.

I want to go ahead and tell everyone that I want to buy some stock in Scott after putting on his film.  At 6’2″, he has a good frame that is not afraid to go get the ball and beat his defender any way possible.  He tracks the ball good and is able to shield the defender away from the ball.  Clip after clip, it shows him extending his arms to go up and grab the ball out of the air.  With his size, you like your wide receiver that will go up and snag the ball out of the air, like Scott does every time.  Down in the redzone you don’t know what you are going to get playing defensive back against Scott.  He runs a combination of a slant and fade route and you are unsure what you are going to get from him.  With his frame, he can beat you on both routes.  He shows a good double move which the defenders bite every time.  After watching the game film, I believe Scott has an opportunity to go play at the next level at wide receiver.

Down in Class A, Pocola has a few young players that will have the Indians be a very interesting team to watch moving forward and one of them is junior standout Garrett Scott Garrett Scott 6'2" | 170 lbs | ATH Pocola | 2024 State OK . Back in August, we knew Scott more for being a basketball player but that athleticism he showed on the court absolutely translated to the football field. Scott would become Pocola’s leading wide receiver and was also a big part of what they did on the defensive side of the ball at defensive back. Scott is just a fantastic athlete with good size, speed and quickness. And he’s also incredibly strong. Scott has become one of the better 2024 dual-sport prospects in the state. After a breakout 2022 season, he’ll be hungry for more when 2023 rolls around.

But when it comes to him on the football field, Scott has been a dynamic playmaker at the wide receiver position. Pocola is a team to watch out for in Class A based on some of the younger talent that they have and Scott is a big part of that group. Scott is the leading receiver and it will be interesting to see how his recruitment follows following a breakout junior season. And what side of the ball college coaches prefer to see Scott on. And then there is the basketball element in all of this. Pocola is one of the better basketball teams in Class 2A this upcoming winter and Scott plans on helping lead the Indians back to the state tournament. Whether it’s football or basketball, Scott will more than likely have quite a few options moving forward.
