is a player to watch, not only for Pocola but in the state’s 2029 class. Merritt was one of the top freshman receivers in the state a year ago, finishing the year with nearly 40 catches for over 600 yards and eight touchdowns. The expectation for him coming into this season is that he could end up being their top pass catcher in this offense. And wide receivers have put up a lot of numbers in the Pocola offense over the last several seasons. Now, can Merritt double his production from a year ago? It’s actually not that crazy of a thought. He’s a reliable playmaker that appears to be ready to take the next step.
