might be the best two-way player in Saturday’s state championship game. He’s one of the top targets in the passing game for Bass, with over 1,000 yards this season. He’s also caught 13 touchdowns but then turns around is one of the team’s best defenders. Harris leads the team in tackles and interceptions. He is excellent in the open field in 1 on 1 tackling situations. And that will come in handy against a Lincoln offense that does a lot of things well. And don’t forget about the impact he can have in special teams as a returner.

You can make the argument that the top target for Bass in this Heritage Hall offense is senior standout

and he’s much more than the top receiver target. Harris is also a standout on the defensive side of the ball. Harris is terrific with the football in the open field. Bass gets a lot of credit for the numbers that he’s put up this season, but you have to also look at the production that Harris has had on both sides of the ball. The Heritage Hall senior has been playing outstanding football over the last few weeks and he’ll look to keep that momentum going this week against Marlow to punch their ticket back to Edmond.

Like we said with Bass, we’re only a month into the season but senior

looks like he might be one of the best, if not the best two-way players in Class 3A this season. Harris is a big play threat on the offensive end of the field, a lockdown corner on defense and he’s also made plays for the Chargers in the return game. Bass is electric with the football but him having a playmaker like Harris feels like a cheat code for this Heritage Hall offense. Harris has had a great start to his senior season and his recruitment has continued to gain some momentum over the last few months.

at the defensive back position and specifically at cornerback. Harris is a shutdown corner on defense and then he will turn around and play a little wide receiver for the Chargers. While it’s very clear that the Chargers are going to be a run-first offense with their personnel in the backfield, they are still going to throw the ball around the yard and that’s where Harris could come in. He has the potential to be Heritage Hall’s top playmaker in the passing game. He had a really good season last fall and he’s looking to build on that this fall. Harris is mostly known as a cornerback when it comes to his recruitment and we’re looking forward to seeing what kind of production he has.

Heritage Hall has a few 2024 prospects that we really like and that’s a big reason why the Chargers are the favorites once again to capture the Class 3A state championship for the second straight year. On defense, that unit is headlined by

at the cornerback position. Speed is the name of the game for Harris as he doubles as one of Heritage Hall’s top options on the offensive side of the ball at wide receiver. But Harris is a lockdown cornerback and we got a chance to see that first hand several times during last season’s championship run. Harris is a cornerback that we started hearing a lot about during the spring last year and he had a really strong junior season. His recruitment has started to take off and he’s definitely in the same position as Dean and Gaddy where the offers could really roll in with a strong senior season and as schools make that late push to get their 2024 signing class lined up.

Another prospect that can get it done on both sides of the ball but we prefer him on defense. Heritage Hall standout

is an outstanding cornerback and he showed that throughout the season with the state champion Chargers. Harris should also explode this fall as one of the top playmakers on the offensive side of the ball at wide receiver. But like some of the other two-way stars in this class, we like Harris for what he can do on the defensive side of the ball. He was simply not tested very often last season and for good reason when you look at the speed and overall skill he plays the position with. It was around this time last year that we first found out about Harris and he’s continued to improve his game ever since and the arrow continues to point up.

Arguably the most important player on Heritage Hall’s defense on Thursday night will be junior defensive back

. The Chargers are playing a Metro Christian team that has arguably the best passing offense in the state this season. Harris and the Heritage Hall secondary will be on the frontline to slowing that passing attack down. Harris leads the Chargers with six interceptions on the season. He also has nearly 50 tackles on the season as well. The Chargers won’t be able to stop Metro’s passing attack, so tackling after the catch and not letting a short gain turn into a big play will be critical. Harris has emerged as one of the better cornerbacks in the state’s 2024 class. But he also is a playmaker on offense as well. He has just 12 catches on the season but 6 have gone for touchdowns.

Every time we do a ranking update, there are a handful of players that we are on the fence on when it comes to their position. Back in June during our last update, we were pretty solid on Heritage Hall standout

being a defensive back. But after watching his production and some of his film from this season, we’re not so sure. The speedster is an overall athlete and can be used in a variety of ways. He’s scored a handful of touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball and he’s also very dynamic in the return game. Now, we knew that the speed was there when it came to Harris because he has clocked some very impressive times. But you’re seeing it translate in other ways other than just playing defensive back. Harris is a dynamic athlete on the rise and he might be more than just another DB.
