has been one of the best two-way players in the state in Class 3A for three seasons now. On offense, Stevenson is one of the toughest running backs to bring down and he has been a touchdown machine for three years. On defense, Stevenson is a game-wrecking defensive lineman that can create havoc. Stevenson on defense is going to be something to watch this week. Lincoln has a very experienced offensive line and we mentioned the running game. If Stevenson can cause problems on defense, to go along with his power running, look for the Demons to control the clock on offense.

Perkins-Tryon wrapped up the district championship on Friday night by beating McLoud 40-13. It was a complete performance from the Demons on the offensive side of the ball but we had to put the spotlight once again on senior

at the running back position. Earlier on Friday, we added Stevenson to our PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year Watchlist and he immediately backed up the hype. In the win over McLoud, Stevenson ran for well over 100 yards and three touchdowns. He continues to be a touchdown machine as the Demons have rolled through district play. This has been a top five team in Class 3A all season and Stevenson is picking up momentum at the best time with the playoffs right around the corner. Stevenson continues to be one of the best backs in the class.

at the running back position. Stevenson is one of the top power runners in the state and he’s definitely at the top of the list for Class 3A. On the season so far, Stevenson has nearly 800 yards and 16 touchdowns. And Stevenson is starting to take over games week after week. In the last month, the senior standout has run for ten touchdowns in four games. And that includes a season-high 176 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Metro Christian that will ultimately help decide the district championship. Stevenson burst onto the scene during his sophomore year in 2021 when he ran for over 1,100 yards and 18 touchdowns. This season, Stevenson has a good chance to eclipse 1,000 yards for the third straight year and finish with over 20 touchdowns on the ground.

as one of the players to watch this week and he lived up to the hype. Stevenson finished the game with 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns as he was a workhorse back with 26 carries on the night. After the game was tied at halftime, Stevenson scored his two touchdowns in the second half to give them the 21-7 win. He also totaled over 200 yards of total offense and had an interception on defense.

The game of the week in Class 3A might also decide the district championship as #4 Perkins-Tryon hosts #6 Metro Christian on Friday night. These two teams were the favorites in this district heading into the season. And after the first month, nothing has really changed in that department. Metro Christian dominated this match-up a year ago but this year will look very different. Perkins-Tryon senior

will look to have another stellar performance for the Demons. Last season, he had a good performance on offense as a running back but the Demons fell into a deep hole and couldn’t afford to have a run-first offense. This year, Stevenson has had a strong start to his senior season. He’s a big and strong running back that can handle a decent workload when running the football. Stevenson has played incredibly well so far on both sides of the ball but we think he will be more important for the Demons on the offensive side of the ball. Once again, the winner here is more than likely going to capture the district championship.

is going to come into this season as one of the best two-way players in Class 3A. On offense, Stevenson is a bowling ball of a running back that is nearly impossible to bring down in a 1 on 1 situation. Last season, Stevenson finished with over 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground. He’s run for 32 touchdowns in the last two seasons alone. But he also turns around and is their most disruptive player within the front seven from the defensive end position. And after watching Stevenson in person a few times, we still don’t know what his most natural position is for the next level. All we know is that he is a next level player and is going to help a football team. We just don’t know what side of the ball or what position he’s going to be playing when he does it.

as he terrorized opposing offensive linemen. We’ve watched Stevenson quite a bit over the last two seasons and we’ve really bounced back and forth on what we like him as when it comes to being a college prospect. There have been times that we’ve watched him be unstoppable at running back, churning out at least 10 yards, every time he touches the ball. Then there are moments like Thursday when he is incredibly disruptive as a defensive end and it looks like there is more promise there. So the back and forth continues on what Stevenson can be but the one consistent theme is he’s incredibly productive.

following another stellar season as a workhorse running back on offense and a game-wrecker at defensive end. That’s not a combination you see very often but you also don’t see a running back that is the size of Stevenson. He’s nearly impossible to bring down in 1 on 1 situations and hardly ever gets knocked backwards, consistently falling for extra yards. After a breakout sophomore season at running back, Stevenson showed plenty of value on the defensive side of the ball. With most prospects listed as athletes, we usually are. leaning one way or the other on which side of the ball we think they’ll end up on and when it comes to Stevenson, we’re still on the fence and we could see him playing either side. Either way, he’s going to be able to make plays wherever he ends up playing.
