2022 Week 2 – Games to watch: Districts 7-10

<h2>District 7:</h2>   <h2>Woodland Hills vs Gateway</h2>   There won't be many games across the state with more talent on the field than this one on Friday evening. Woodland Hills last weekend eeked out a victory over William Penn 28-24 in a fantastic game. Gateway, on the other hand, got their season off to a great start with a big win over the defending state champions in Mt. Lebanon.   This matchup has a chance to be a high-scoring one and it will be intriguing to see how Woodland Hill's offense matchups against Gateway's strong defense. Gateway will put up their fair share of points, can Woodland Hills keep up? Avonworth got their season started with a 27-7 win in week one over Grove City while Central Valley defeated trinity 43-20. Avonworth is playing up a classification in this one which should be provide a good barometer of Antelopes this season. The Bulldogs dominated Clairton in week one 40-8 while Steelton-Highspire escaped the Peach Bowl Classic with a 21-14 win over Bishop Canevin. If the Steamrollers want to find their second win of the year on Friday night, they'll have to play much better than they did a week ago. If the Gremlins are going to win this one, it will be on the shoulders of 2023 QB [player_tooltip player_id='91728' first='Eric' last='Booher']. Brockway found a way to win last week 28-25 over Kane while DuBois as mentioned above took care of Karn City 28-7. Despite a 17-7 loss to Fairview last weekend, Mercyhurst Prep could still put themselves in a position for a good season with a win on Friday night. Slippery Rock, on the other hand, could get off to a fast 2-0 start after a 37-20 win over General McLane last weekend. If Mercyhurst is going to walk away with a win on Friday night, 2023 QB [player_tooltip player_id='160718' first='David' last='Bahm'] will be their biggest key to success.
