Every coach in America wants a lockdown cornerback who is great in man-to-man coverage. That is exactly who Carlos Diggs Carlos Diggs 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB Gateway | 2026 State PA is. The guy is a dynamic cornerback who locks down other receivers and does not allow them to get open. He is a physical player who does a good job in coverage without being too handsy to get penalties. Then, when the ball is thrown in his direction, he has good coverage skills and does an excellent job breaking on the ball thrown in his direction. Diggs is also a great athlete who runs well. He is a good player who has all the tools to play at the next level.

Carlos Diggs Carlos Diggs 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB Gateway | 2026 State PA is a difference-maker at defensive back. He has good coverage skills and makes a ton of plays in the back end of the Gateway defense. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year:
“He shows good coverage skills. He is good in both man-to-man coverage and zone. In both types of defenses, he shows good skills. He is particularly good at reading the quarterback and the wide receiver and then making a play on the ball. When the ball is thrown his way, he does a good job anticipating the ball to break up the pass or create an interception. Diggs is a talented defensive back that has all the tools to play at an even higher level”.

Diggs is a solid DB whose toolbox of skills will continue to grow. He plays at a nice, low, desired pad level, which allows him to break quickly when contesting passes. He displayed a lot of man and zone coverage skills this season. He’s a competitor that plays with good fundamentals, quick twitch and route recognition. He’s especially skilled at squeezing the receiver to the sideline on fade routes. He’s a tough special teams player that gave top effort all year.
