was inserted as Gateway’s starter a few games into the 2025 season. Mitchell possesses one of the top arms for a young signal caller in the area, and if he can add a few inches and muscle, he is set to be a top-tier talent in the area. He throws with precision with tight spirals on each throw. When watching him at the Western Pennsylvania Prospect Showcase, Mitchell exhibited smooth and balanced footwork, while putting zip behind his passes. Mitchell was on target nearly every throw and did a nice job leading his targets down field.

has had a strong season for Gateway all year as a Freshman quarterback. He passed for 380 yards and 3 touchdowns this week against Hempfield Area. Mitchell is a classic pocket quarterback who shows good skills in the pocket. He has good footwork and mechanics in the pocket. As a 2029 prospect, he has had a strong season with plenty of time left in his career to play even better.

- Baseball prospect at Gateway. 5’10, 165 pounds. 1,200 passing yards, 13 passing scores, 2 rushing with 100+ rushing yards to boot.
- Mayson’s film makes it clear, there’s far more here than meets the eye. He’s a bit unassuming at first glance, small stature, but once the tape rolls, the arm talent and confidence immediately jump off the screen. Shows a live arm with the ability to drive next-level hole shots into tight windows, the kind of throws most freshmen wouldn’t even attempt, let alone complete.
Comfortable operating out of a spread look but also shows adaptability, as seen on a zone-read mesh near the red zone where he tucked it and ran for a score himself. Displays poise and creativity when the play breaks down, showing maturity beyond his years.
Rare to see a young quarterback with this blend of downfield vision, arm strength, range, and overall feel for the field. Mechanics are still developing, there’s some exaggeration in his hitches and wind-up, but that’s expected at this stage. You can see some lower-body compensation due to his current height, but again, that’s a non-issue for his age and frame. At times throws off the balls of his feet, yet still generates plenty of velocity.
A young quarterback with natural ability, visible confidence, and clear developmental upside, one who could turn heads quickly as he matures and tightens up his mechanics.
