Week Three is here, and teams are starting to settle into their rhythm. This is the point in the year where strong starts can turn into real playoff pushes, and slow starts become even harder to climb out of. Some teams will use this week to fine-tune before heading into region play, while others face their toughest challenges yet. Either way, these matchups will play a major role in shaping the season going forward. Here are Week Three's Best Games:

Horizon (2-0) vs Cactus (2-0) (Thurs)

These two 5A titans will clash under the Thursday Night Lights as the Horizon Huskies will head across town to Scottsdale to face the Cactus Cobras. Both teams are riding hot wins from their previous opponents. Horizon dominated Apollo at home, 56-7. Cactus barely escaped from Millennium in a close contest, 28-27. Horizon's offense is looking explosive in the early going of the season. Senior QB [player_tooltip player_id='1844156' first='Carter' last='Puma'] is off to a hot start with a 68% completion percentage and 6 passing TDs in his last 2 outings. He has found WR James Klopfenstien on 3 of those passing TDs while RB [player_tooltip player_id='595765' first='Bodie' last='Zamorano'] has already surpassed 330 rushing on the ground this season. LB Jayson Burkhard and LB [player_tooltip player_id='1690406' first='Sione' last='Moala'] Jr. for this Cactus defense will look to shut down that running game early and force Horizon to beat them through the air. Cactus ATH Robert Bell will look to continue his hot streak. Through just two games, he's already recorded over 220 receiving yards and three touchdowns. On top of that, he's been a dynamic threat in the return game. S Colten Becker and company will seek to limit Bell to the explosive plays he has downfield.

Basha (2-0) vs Williams Field (2-0)

Two undefeated 6A opponents will go head-to-head under the Friday night lights as Basha Bears will head up to Gilbert to face the Williams Field Black Hawks. Basha is coming off an excellent win for their program as they beat Orange Lutheran (CA) at home, 30-24. The Black Hawks looked dominant against their last opponent in East Lake (WA) on the road last Saturday at a neutral site in California, 43-17. The Basha offense is loaded with talent that makes them a versatile threat in multiple facets of the game. They are led by their main signal caller in QB [player_tooltip player_id='1369445' first='Brodie' last='Vehrs'] who is looking to improve his numbers from the previous outing. His weapons he has to dish out include RB [player_tooltip player_id='883266' first='Noah' last='Roberts'], WR [player_tooltip player_id='677968' first='Jaden' last='Baldwin'], and WR [player_tooltip player_id='1177611' first='Kash' last='Brock']. This defense will have their hands full but LB [player_tooltip player_id='884216' first='Russell' last='Moss'] who had a blocked punt in his last game, DL [player_tooltip player_id='1577725' first='Joshua' last='Chappell'] and DL Moses Peraza are up to the task. Williams Field has nice pair of backs including RB [player_tooltip player_id='1369422' first='Courshawn' last='Hill'] and RB Damien Anguis who had a nice game against East Lake including a 56-yard rushing TD. This Basha defense unit is one of the best in the state with players like DL [player_tooltip player_id='1369395' first='Dante' last='Bruley'], LB [player_tooltip player_id='401160' first='Eli' last='Cramer-Cronin'] and DB [player_tooltip player_id='1641205' first='Kaleb' last='Garcia'].

Perry (1-1) vs Brophy Prep (1-1)

These former regional foes will square off once again in a highly anticipated game as the Perry Pumas will head to Downtown Phoenix to face the Brophy Broncos. Brophy is riding a confident win against Regis Jesuit (CO), 44-18. While Perry is coming off a disappointing loss to Granite Hills (CA), 27-20. This was an excellent matchup last year that came down to the wire with a game sealing INT from the Broncos in the final two minutes. QB [player_tooltip player_id='883279' first='Kael' last='Snyder'] will be looking for redemption this time around against the Broncos after playing a great game against them the season prior. He will have his hands full with a talented defense to contend with, such as players like DL [player_tooltip player_id='401149' first='Bastian' last='Vanden Bosch'], DL Joshua Finch Logan, and DB [player_tooltip player_id='884456' first='Ryder' last='Noche']. The talent doesn't stop there as they have a high-powered offense led by senior QB [player_tooltip player_id='401151' first='Case' last='Vanden Bosch']. RB [player_tooltip player_id='835498' first='Harrison' last='Chambers'] is coming off a great 100-yard rushing performance and he has playmakers on the outside including WR [player_tooltip player_id='401157' first='Devin' last='Fitzgerald'] and WR [player_tooltip player_id='883368' first='Donovan' last='McNabb Jr.'] LB [player_tooltip player_id='884422' first='Talen' last='Frazier'] and DB Devin Sarpy will look to lock down these weapons out in space for the Perry defense.
