I did my initial eval on Vanden Bosch back in April, and I stand on my word from that- projecting him to be a top QB in the state with a full year of opportunity. The Air Force commit is a prime position on a loaded Brophy offense to put up big numbers this fall. Not only just because of the weapons he has around him, but due to his dual threat ability and the possibility to break the game open on any given play. He possesses impressive poise in the pocket with the ability to move DB’s with his eyes and will deliver throws on the money at all 3 levels with velocity or touch. On the ground, he’s a legit big play threat and will take advantage of the defense giving his receivers too much cushion.

is known more for his mobility, so I was curious how he’d look in a setting like this where running isn’t really part of the equation. Turns out, he didn’t need it to stand out. He looked in control from the jump — trusting his eyes, trusting his receivers, and making smart decisions without trying to do too much. What I liked most was his feel for the moment. He knew when to push the ball downfield and when to take the safer throw. That kind of situational awareness is big, especially in 7s where it’s easy to get greedy. Mechanics-wise, he’s still a little rigid. The motion can look a bit stiff and robotic, like he’s thinking through the throw instead of just letting it rip. But to his credit, the ball still came out clean and got where it needed to go. You could tell he’s working on refining things, and if he keeps stacking outings like this, he’s going to keep trending up. Solid night all around and a good reminder that there’s more to his game than just his legs.
