#5 ADA (8-0) AT #2 POTEAU (8-0)
It’s week nine but we still have several match-ups this week that feature unbeaten teams. And there’s no doubt that the game of the week in Class 4A will take place in southeastern Oklahoma when #2 Poteau hosts #5 Ada in a battle of unbeaten teams. The district championship will be on the line and the winner is going to get a ton of momentum as we start looking ahead to the playoffs. The Pirates have been led this season by senior standout and Tulsa commit Dax Collins Dax Collins 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Poteau | 2024 State OK on both sides of the ball. Both teams have been impressive over the last month and Ada will lean on their mix of senior leadership and young talent to make some noise this week in the showdown with the Pirates.
#6 CRESCENT (7-0) AT #5 MINCO (8-0)
In Class A, we’ll see a few match-ups featuring undefeated teams squaring off so district championships are going to be decided on Friday night. #5 Minco will host #6 Crescent in a match-up that will decide the A-3 district title. Both teams have absolutely dominated district play and both have won every game this season by double digits. Minco has a strong offense and Crescent is going to counter with an incredibly experienced team. Both have good balance on the offensive side of the ball and both want to join some of the other top Class A teams that are state title contenders. A win on Friday will be the first step as it will give them a much more manageable path when the playoffs begin.
#2 DEL CITY (7-0) AT #7 COWETA (6-2)
#7 Coweta is playing as well as anyone in an absolutely loaded Class 5A. After starting 0-2 with losses to defending 5A champ Carl Albert and 4A champ Wagoner, the Tigers have won six straight and are right back in the mix for another district championship. Senior wide receiver Kevon Robinson Kevon Robinson 6'2" | WR Coweta | 2024 State OK has had a stellar season in some of the bigger games in the last month. For Del City, the Eagles are looking to finish off their perfect regular season. The three-headed monster on offense with quarterback River Warren River Warren 6'4" | 195 lbs | QB Del City | 2024 State OK as well as running back Rodney Fields Rodney Fields 6'0" | RB Del City | 2024 State OK and wide receiver Ladainian Fields Ladainian Fields 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Del City | 2024 State OK has been arguably the best in the state this season. The winner of Friday night’s game will be the district champ heading into November.
#4 EDMOND SANTA FE (5-2) AT #3 OWASSO (6-2)
In Class 6A-1, the best game will take place in Owasso as the #3 Rams will host #4 Edmond Santa Fe in a district showdown. The winner is going to get a bye in the first round of the playoffs and set themselves up for an easier path in the playoffs. The Rams had to fight and claw to beat Edmond Memorial last week behind a balanced offensive attack. For Edmond Santa Fe, they were tied with #2 Union at halftime but the Redhawks ran away with the game and the district title in the second half. This game features two dynamic running games. Santa Fe is led by junior Demarius Robinson Demarius Robinson 5'9" | 165 lbs | RB Edmond Santa Fe | 2025 State OK while the Rams have several running backs that have been getting the job done for them this season.
#10 LAWTON MACARTHUR (7-1) AT #4 ELGIN (8-0)
One week after losing in a blowout to Midwest City, #10 Lawton MacArthur bounced back in a big way with a win over El Reno. Now they shift their focus to a showdown in southwestern Oklahoma with #4 Elgin. The unbeaten Owls have been perfect this season and senior running back Matt Lund Matt Lund 6'0" | RB Elgin | 2024 State OK has been lights out almost every single week. The Highlanders have had a great team from start to finish. The offense is incredibly balanced and the defense has not only been able to force turnovers but they’ve been able to score off those turnovers. This has been a 5A showdown that we’ve had circled for a few weeks now. And hopefully it lives up to some of the other top ten showdowns in Class 5A that happened in week eight.
#6 NEWCASTLE (7-1) AT #4 TUTTLE (6-2)
There are some good games in Class 4A this week but most of the attention will be on 4A-2 as the top four teams in the district (all ranked in the top ten rankings) all face off against one another. #4 Tuttle will host #6 Newcastle and both teams have already dropped a district game to Blanchard but there is still plenty on the line. The loser will be in danger of finishing fourth in district and have to play a district champion in the first round. Tuttle is led by junior standout Brady Mcadoo Brady Mcadoo 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Tuttle | 2025 State OK on the offensive side of the ball. Newcastle will counter with an incredibly balanced offense. Quarterback Jackson Bergt Jackson Bergt 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Newcastle | 2024 State OK has been lights out this season and sophomore running back TJ Bradford TJ Bradford 6'0" | RB Newcastle | 2026 State OK is quickly turning into a 4A star.
#3 SULPHUR (6-2) AT #1 HERITAGE HALL (8-0)
There’s no doubt that the game of the week in Class 3A will be centered around 3A-2 and that district title race. Defending champion and top-ranked Heritage Hall looks to remain unbeaten on the season when they host #3 Sulphur, who has been perfect in district play this season. The Bulldogs can win the district title with a big win on the road while the Chargers still have a week ten showdown with #4 Marlow looming. Sulphur just beat Marlow at home, handing the Outlaws their first loss on the season but this week brings a much tougher test. They will face a Heritage Hall team that has been perfect this season. Senior quarterback Andy Bass Andy Bass 6'0" | 195 lbs | ATH Heritage Hall | 2024 State OK has been one of the best players in the state all season.
#7 VIAN (6-2) AT #8 PRAGUE (8-0)
In Class 2A, we’ll see a few top ten showdowns this week but one that will decide a district championship features #8 Prague hosting #7 Vian with the 2A-5 crown on the line. Prague has been a team that has immediately become a contender under head coach Rafe Watkins as he turned this program around as soon as he took over. But the Red Devils are facing their toughest opponent of the season with perennial powerhouse Vian coming to town. The Wolverines started the year with a 1-2 record with losses against 2A’s #1 Washington and 3A’s #2 Lincoln Christian. They’ve been perfect ever since that tough non-district slate. Sophomore Masyn Wright Masyn Wright 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Vian | 2026 State OK has been one of the best players in 2A this fall.
#5 VICTORY CHRISTIAN (7-1) AT #10 KANSAS (7-1)
This week begins the important two-week stretch for #5 Victory Christian to wrap up the regular season. The playoffs start early for the Conquerors as they travel to eastern Oklahoma to face #10 Kansas and then will face #6 Kiefer next week. Kansas bounced back after a tough home loss to Kiefer and they’ll look to get a massive win this week against a high-powered Victory offense. Both teams have outstanding quarterbacks who have been on fire this fall. Kansas junior Seneca Steele Seneca Steele 6'4" | 195 lbs | QB Kansas | 2025 State OK is a 2025 prospect to keep an eye on moving forward. And Victory Christian senior signal caller Ayden Hamilton Ayden Hamilton 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Victory Christian | 2024 State OK is coming off a game where he absolutely torched Sperry with his arm and his legs and is incredibly dynamic.
#4 WOODLAND (8-0) AT #1 HOMINY (8-0)
There aren’t many games this week that are better than this Class A showdown in Osage County. Top-ranked Hominy looks to remain unbeaten when they host #4 Woodland in one of the more highly anticipated games in Class A this season. For Hominy, it’s all about contending for the state championship. They have one of the best players in the state with senior Jaxon Woods Jaxon Woods 6'0" | ATH Hominy | 2024 State OK at quarterback and on defense. They have been one of the best teams in Class A for well over a year. For Woodland, they want to prove they belong among the best in the class. Quarterback Trey Bennett Trey Bennett 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Woodland | 2025 State OK and two-way star Jackson Rhodes Jackson Rhodes 6'3" | 185 lbs | LB Woodland | 2024 State OK have been an outstanding 1-2 punch for them this season as both teams have been dominant.
THREE MORE GAMES TO WATCH
#10 BETHANY (6-2) AT #3 BLANCHARD (7-1)
The other massive 4A-2 match-up this week features the other top ten teams with #3 Blanchard hosting #10 Bethany. The Bronchos come into this game having won four in a row and they could throw a massive wrench into the district standings with an upset win. The Lions can lock up the district title with a win on Friday night. Blanchard has been led all season by a stingy defense and senior quarterback Carson Cooksey Carson Cooksey 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Blanchard | 2024 State OK and he’s been playing good football recently. Both teams expect to contend in the 4A playoffs.
#1 MUSKOGEE (7-1) AT #6 BARTLESVILLE (3-5)
Don’t let the 3-5 record fool you, Bartlesville has some players that will keep them in some games next month when the playoffs begin. Junior running back PJ Wallace PJ Wallace 6'1" | RB Muskogee | 2025 State OK is one of the best in the class and he’ll look to lead the Bruins to an upset win over top-ranked Muskogee. The Roughers are looking to take one more step towards a week ten collision with defending champion Stillwater. Junior quarterback Jamarian Ficklin Jamarian Ficklin 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Muskogee | 2025 State OK has been playing some of his best football over the last several weeks and is one of the best in the state.
#5 WESTMOORE (5-3) AT #7 NORMAN NORTH (6-2)
#5 Westmoore and star quarterback Micheal Graham Micheal Graham 6'0" | ATH Del City | 2024 State OK hit the road to face #7 Norman North in a game that will have massive playoff implications. The Jaguars are still in contention for a first round bye but they have to take care of business. They look to bounce back after a loss to Bixby last week. Norman North and quarterback Owen Eshelman Owen Eshelman 6'3" | QB Norman North | 2025 State OK had to rally to beat Moore last week but they are picking up momentum as we get closer to the playoffs. The Timberwolves will be a team to watch in the postseason.
