The state’s 2025 quarterback class is absolutely loaded at the top. Five of the top twenty overall prospects are quarterbacks but there’s more depth to this position than just the elite guys. Projecting Steele to the next level is an interesting process because the ceiling with what he could be in a few years is incredibly high. He’s big, has a cannon of an arm and can tuck the ball and run with athleticism and physicality. Needless to say, Steele is going to be a quarterback to watch moving forward this spring and fall.

Granted, the state’s 2025 class might be the best in recent history. But Steele is certainly a quarterback that should not be overlooked moving forward. The first thing that stands out when you watch the lefty in person is his physical build. He looks like your prototypical quarterback at the next level. I didn’t watch every single throw made by the quarterback group but from what I did watch, it looked like Steele had the strongest arm. And after watching Steele in person during the 2023 season, we know he can move around and is a good athlete with the pads on. Sunday, he was just throwing and was still able to turn some heads and he got the attention of his coaches.

It’s one of the best games of the week this week as #8 Kansas will host #6 Kiefer in a battle of 2A unbeaten teams. One team will keep their district title hopes alive while the other will have some work to do and will need some help to close out the regular season. Steele is an underrated quarterback in the state’s 2025 class and he’s playing like it so far this season. Steele is truly dynamic with the football in his hands and he’s a threat to throw it and run it when he needs to tuck it and run. Steele is a big, physical quarterback that has the ability to impact the running game. We anticipate this game being one of the best of week seven and Steele will look to continue Kansas’ winning ways as one of the surprise teams in Class 2A.

Steele was already on our radar in the 2025 class. He’s part of an extremely deep quarterback group in Oklahoma’s 2025 class and the lefty really impressed us in person. He was slinging it all over the field and he turned around and played a little defensive back at safety as well. Steele immediately passed the eye test when we were watching and then watching how athletic he was to go with the arm talent was impressive to see in person. There were a few quarterbacks that impressed on Thursday but Steele was arguably the best in attendance in Verdigris.
