Possibly the top two-way player in the state is 2025 Martinsburg RB/LB Nick Busky Nick Busky 5'11" | 205 lbs | LB/RB Martinsburg | 2025 State WV who can execute both duties at a very high level.
The scary part of his game this season is Busky may be playing linebacker at an even higher level compared to running back where he’s ranked #2 in the state. He’s earned First Team All-State honors in the past at LB so it’s not surprising to see him playing so well on defense, but his potential at RB may be even higher. Busky looks like a D1 player in our eyes as we’ll continue pounding the table for FCS programs to extend offers for his services. Busky’s tough hardnosed playing style paired with clear D1 athleticism makes him a very intriguing prospect for how versatile he can be at the next level.

Nick Busky Nick Busky 5'11" | 205 lbs | LB/RB Martinsburg | 2025 State WV is a two-way star for the Bulldogs and a First Team All-State performer at linebacker in addition to his prowess as a running back. We like him more as a running back prospect where he ranks #2 overall and in the Top 20 for the 2025 class. Busky is a D1 prospect in our eyes and should receive opportunities from that level this season with another strong year. He has the combination of speed and power that you’re looking for in a D1 running back and is a multi-faceted athlete who can do a lot of different things for your team. Busky is a versatile runner who can get tough yards between the tackles or break loose from defenders in the open field to take it the distance. That translates to the defensive side of the ball as well at linebacker which makes it tough to take him off the field.
Look for Busky to have his best season yet in a retooled Martinsburg offense that will likely rely on their running game heavily this season.

Surprisingly, 2025 Martinsburg RB Nick Busky Nick Busky 5'11" | 205 lbs | LB/RB Martinsburg | 2025 State WV hasn’t yet received a D1 offer to this date but they are sure to come in the future in all likelihood. A 5’11 205 running back with the speed and power combination that he has should have FCS programs in the region pulling the trigger on offers before his senior season begins. We think he could even warrant G5 interest with another strong season in 2024, especially if he gets out to camps and has strong performances in front of them. Busky ran a hand-timed 4.52 40 and a laser-verified 4.6 last off-season and is even stronger and faster a year later. Busky is equally as talented on the defensive side of the ball at linebacker where he was First Team All-EPAC and All-State as a junior and could play there in college too. We see his ceiling highest at running back where we have him ranked the #2 prospect for that position in the 2025 class and could earn accolades at the next level at either spot.
Busky has an FCS floor in our eyes with G5 potential, but if he falls to the D2 level, he’ll have the opportunity to be one of the best running backs in the country if he ends up there.

The Martinsburg junior class has some really talented prospects in it and that continues with RB/LB Nick Busky Nick Busky 5'11" | 205 lbs | LB/RB Martinsburg | 2025 State WV who was named to the First-Team All-EPAC team as a linebacker. It’s hard to say where he best projects right now at the next level because he’s equally as good at both positions. Busky has a great combination of speed and power at running back and is a very hard runner. He was a big part of Martinsburg’s 380 rushing yards performance against a talented Huntington team in the semifinal and you’ll likely see him shine in the championship game as well. Busky is a good runner between the tackles who can run through you and run by you in open space. It’s very tough to bring him down on first contact especially when he gets a full head of steam. At 5’11 195, running back may be where he plays in college but don’t overlook his play at linebacker in this game either where he’ll be needed to play well.
