Our Class AAAA Defensive Player of the Year Martinsburg LB Ace Flores Ace Flores 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Martinsburg | 2025 State WV was one of the highest stock risers in the 2025 class in our final update. He put up video game numbers this season for the Bulldogs in an expanded role helping lead a stingy defense that finished with a state title. Flores is a tenacious middle linebacker who plays the position the way it was meant to be played. He lived in opposing offenses’ backfields this season resulting in tremendous production behind the line of scrimmage. Flores seeks out and finds the ball at a high level and is a prospect that FCS and D2 programs should continue looking at.

2025 Martinsburg LB Ace Flores Ace Flores 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Martinsburg | 2025 State WV is having a great start to his senior season for the Bulldogs and is a first four weeks stock riser.

Flores is an athletic middle linebacker who moves very well and can cover a lot of ground quickly. As a result, he’s gotten consistent penetration into the backfield this season while creating a large number of TFLs. Flores has been stout between the tackles and does a great job of shooting gaps and breaking down when tackling. He also does a nice job of dissecting plays and pursues the ball at a high level given his level of athleticism to do so.

Martinsburg takes both Players of the Week spots in week two as 2025 LB Ace Flores Ace Flores 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Martinsburg | 2025 State WV had a dominant performance against Huntington. Flores racked up 5.5 tackles for loss, blocked 2 extra point attempts in the 47-15 win, and was simply unblockable on Friday night. He’s taken on a bigger role for the Bulldogs this season as a senior and has leveled up his game from his junior year. Flores shot the gaps at a high level the entire game and did a great job breaking down and preventing runners from gaining yards after contact. He played with high effort for 4 quarters and impacted the game in a variety of ways and his first D1 offer came the week before with a stock riser season brewing.

Another Bulldog who should step up and have an increased role this season is 2025 LB Ace Flores Ace Flores 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Martinsburg | 2025 State WV . Flores showed flashes as a junior of becoming one of the top linebackers in this class and should have a full-time starting role in 2024. He’s a very good athlete who ripped off a 4.5 40 this off-season and is built well for his size. Flores should fit in nicely at middle linebacker with outside potential given his speed and ranginess. If he can be stout at the line of scrimmage among traffic, Flores has the potential to be a well-rounded linebacker prospect and versatile in his capabilities.

D2 programs should be watching Flores closely this season to see how he’s developed since his junior year as we expect a big year from him as a senior.

Martinsburg linebacker Ace Flores Ace Flores 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Martinsburg | 2025 State WV saw extended playing time in the early part of the 2023 season when Nick Busky Nick Busky 5'11" | 205 lbs | LB/RB Martinsburg | 2025 State WV was out with an injury and should see a bigger role in 2024 for the defending state champion Bulldogs. He’d be a full-time starter on most teams in the state but when you have a loaded roster like Martinsburg does year in and year out there are talented players waiting in the wing. Flores is listed at 6’0 190 but he’s a well-put-together 6’0 190 and he could easily get in that 220-pound range. I thought his athleticism and hustle jumped out when watching his film and he’s able to pursue ball carriers downfield and be an effective coverage linebacker. If Flores is a full-time starter in 2024 I would expect to see his ranking increase and stock rise with a solid senior season on the best program in the state.

A new name to our radar and another 2025 linebacker name to know is Martinsburg middle linebacker Ace Flores Ace Flores 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Martinsburg | 2025 State WV who came to the Bulldogs by way of Chambersburg (PA) last season. The 6’1 190 junior has looked good manning one of the middle linebacker spots in the Bulldogs’ defense. Flores is a rangy linebacker that can drop into coverage or play downhill. He still has plenty of room to add more weight to his frame and get bigger and stronger. I like the way that Flores attacks and he has a ferocity to his game that you love seeing in a middle linebacker. I thought he looked pretty speedy in his highlights especially when getting downhill and is quick to the ball. Flores also appears to be a good tackler with proper form and the type of player who isn’t likely to miss tackles. Added size and strength will really benefit him in the future which he has plenty of time to do with only being a junior.
