I actually saw Davitt play just last Friday, and there is no question that he is one of the top 100 players and one of the best safeties in New York. He picked up an offer from Ithaca over the weekend and is currently, in my eyes – one of the most underrecruited players in New York.

The junior safety/linebacker had a tone setting interception early on for Iona. He helped the Gaels jump out to a 21-0 lead early and they never looked back. On his interception, he did a fantastic job at reading the QB and was able to come down and snag an interception. His pass coverage ability was on display all night, as he showed great instincts and did his job throughout the game. Davitt also had a big game tackling wise, he flies all over the field and the 2025 prospect will be one to watch against Cardinal Hayes in the title game

Matt Davitt Matt Davitt 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB Iona Prep | 2025 State NY has elite speed and one of the most transferable traits to a higher level is speed. Davitt will be amongst a strong WR group at Iona Prep and opportunities may be limited but there is clear potential here. Davitt has the speed and is a good route runner and really solid production wise. A prospect to watch who is also an elite performer in track and field.
