Last, but certainly not least in WVU’s current signed PWO class is Morgantown’s Andrew Phares Andrew Phares 5'9" | 160 lbs | WR Morgantown | 2024 State WV . He led the Mohigans in every receiving category this season posting 35 receptions for 632 yards and 7 touchdowns during his senior campaign. Phares is an undersized but very skilled pass catcher who could follow in former Morgantown and WVU walk-on receiver Preston Fox’s footsteps who is now on scholarship for the Mountaineers and was productive this season. He may be the lowest-ranked prospect in WVU’s class but don’t overlook Phares who could one day earn a scholarship for the Mountaineers just like many Mohigans before him have done.

rnMorgantown High’s has been on an absolute tear during the summer camp season. The 2024 Mohigan has made a name for himself at various college and prospect camps and I was able to see him in person for the first time this past weekend at the GCOH Performance Exposure Camp. Phares is a 5’9 160 route running technician who is very quick with some twitch to him. He is a nightmare to cover 1-on-1 and won many of his reps in camp on Sunday. Although his team runs the Wing-T offense, Phares was able to put some good things on film last year and looks to have an even bigger senior season. He was rewarded with numerous D2 scholarship offers this summer so far from his great performances in camps. is a name you need to watch for in the 2023 season.

WVU has had a fantastic run of PWO commitments this month beginning with Morgantown WR Andrew Phares Andrew Phares 5'9" | 160 lbs | WR Morgantown | 2024 State WV .

The Mohigan won’t have to travel far for his collegiate destination and will stay in the city of Morgantown to further his academic and athletic career.

Phares was a WVSWA Class AAA Honorable Mention All-State selection and had his pick of D2 and D3 college offers.

Smaller wide receiver at 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds with good athleticism and speed, a reported 40-yard dash of 4.59. Impressive tape and production history for Morgantown, performed well on the camp circuit as well this offseason. Could be in for a big fall.
